It went fine, thanks. It was just a routine checkup. My doctor's seen me barefoot so many times I think she'd be surprised if I wasn't barefoot. She just said, "Still barefoot, I see!" and I said, "Of course." She replied, "Well, it's obviously not causing you any problems, so just be careful where you step." :)

You have a cool doctor! If you went to a podiatrist, he/she would most likely tell you not to walk around barefoot or try to sell you orthotics. We don't need no stinkin' shoes!!! :D

I love people leaving their WiFi access as open as a barn door... so, I am currently barefoot, sitting in a street café, enjoying a cappucino and soda, wiggling my happy bare toes in the sun!!

One of the treats of urban barefooting is to sit down in such a place, and shock people out of their expectations of some "dirty hippie" by suddenly unpacking a mini laptop and beginning to type away on it, or even surfing the 'net.

Before doing this, I placed my ballot letter for the upcoming state election in North Rhine Westfalia (the state in Germany where I live) into the mail. I prefer voting by mail, since I can do so without having to spend a good part my Sunday in a stuffy room and making my cross on the ballot paper in some small cabin. So, taking part in democracy can be a barefoot thing, too.

    Wiggling happy and democratic toes,

In a movie theater with clean, carpeted floors. I know that is hard to believe...

Yesterday was the opening of the season of an annual series of medieval-/fantasy-themed markets known as "Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum", and since they start that season in one of the cities of the Ruhr area before touring all over Germany, I went there barefoot with two (shod) pals of mine. The market/festival is held in a park, so that there are many different surfaces for bare soles to feel... unfortunately also quite a few places with hazelnut-sized sharp gravel bits, which I had to cross to get to the more pleasant grassy areas... and a special treat in those grassy areas were patches of sand mixed with pea-sized round pebbles of stone, which molded nicely to the shape of my soles... Since such festivals are places to see "weird" people or people dressed in medieval garb, one barefooter wasn't too unusual a sight. Especially since there were quite many people baring their feet in the warm spring weather... I will put up a little report in my journal later, as well as put up some pictures on my web page in my barefoot diary section. It's also a fixed plan of mine to revisit that festival, since their tour is taking them to two other venues in my vicinity, which both are a bit friendlier to bare soles - no big pieces of gravel there...

Right now I am sitting barefoot all over :) at the keyboard and am getting ready for the happy ending of my personal Barefoot Freedom Week - at 9.30 am the temperature is already at 17°C, blue sky and a brightly shining sun... and that makes for a perfect morning to take the train to my favourite lake - like last Sunday, walk there (barefoot, of course), find a nice spot in the sun, shed my clothes and enjoy a sunny skyclad day.

Wiggling bare and very happy toes,

On day 11 now of not owning shoes. I had to go to wal mart today, and later to a class. I am surprised at how comfortably I can walk up the gravel walkway to my house! Before I went barefoot full time, it left my soles a bit sore!

I've been barefoot to my psychiatrist, too. She hasn't said anything about the bare feet. Perhaps she thinks that going barefoot might be helpful for my depression - who knows.

I went to a liquor store today, and as I entered, the cashier jokingly said, "No shoes, no service....just kidding." I got pretty good service and bought a box of wine for my neighbor who is a true wino.

Last summer I did my one psych's office barefoot and she also said nothing. Have an appt today and intend to do that barefoot and hit Home Depot on the way home and will be doing that barefoot too as I won't have any shoes to put on.

Yesterday was quite warm:). Today it's snowing:(. Ugghhh, springtime in Colorado. Anyhow I took advantage of yesterday's 80 deg F (27 deg C) to run some errands barefoot, including the following.
    • Liquor Store (all over the place, ~30-40 minutes, passed numerous employees - no problem!:))
    • Credit Union
    • Sears
    • Walking through LODO Denver
    • Coors Field Ticket Office
    • King Soopers grocery
    • Convenience store

Kia Ora barefooting iwi. (greetings barefooting community in Maori)

2 week anniversary of barefootedness! Today I got an interesting comment from a lady. She said 'you have no shoes on!'. I told her I didn't have any and she responded that if she could, she'd 'run around barefoot all day too!' I absolutely LOVE that I have a job that allows me to FINALLY go barefoot 24/7. Cheers!

Today I was the barefoot English guy at the Archeon park in the Netherlands, then drove 300 miles home barefoot.

Ah, I wondered if you posted on any barefoot forums or the SBL! I wasn't as easily recognisable as a full-time barefooter since many of us in Prehistory are barefoot with the historic clothing, but I was the one using the stone axe, at the long building of the first farmers. Nice to meet you! :)

Myranya, it was a pleasure to meet and talk to you. Thank you for not laughing at my axe skills !
I wish you'd introduced yourself or asked me about the barefooting - most of your colleagues did ! I guess barefoot visitors are unusual at the park ?
I'll probably be back in September, so I'll look out for you.

It was the usual meeting of our role-playing game group yesterday, so I went barefoot there, of course... and since we have re-started our SF campaign I was again able to get our butts scorched a little - well, actually, I wasn't too good on my d100 roll on my hyperspace pilot skill roll, which ended in jumping to hyperspace a split second too late to evade the effect of the explosion of an Andrium-enriched missile we fired on an enemy vessel... the stern of our ship got a little beating from that. But, we survived... again. :)

And yesterday I encountered the tomcat again, that gave me that disapproving look a few weeks ago for walking past "his" window in my bare feet while he had to stay inside (as I wrote in my journal)... well, he was a bit more outside yesterday, sitting on a balcony this time, but still not as free on his bare paws as I was on mine, therefore not looking quite happy:

Another bare-pawed animal encountered was as usual our game master's dog, named Chewie (for the sounds he quite often makes... German shepherds seem to have some Wookie DNA... they "talk" a lot):

Today is Sunday, so I will be out on my usual energizing barefoot Sunday stroll later... I guess that I will be almost alone in the park with overcast skies, light rain and only about 12°C today.

Wiggling toes in happy anticipation of feeling cool soil and wet grass later,
