Rafael. Nickname: Raf, Raffy (Rah-fi, with the "fi" pronounced almost but not quite as "fee"). Never had a hippie name. I use Musikero here because it means "musician". In myspace, I'm Wideawakedreamer, because I daydream a lot.
Well, mine is Windsong. That was hard to figure out, huh? Incidentally, I thought about Starshine, too (but apparently it's already taken ) My real name is Amanda, but I just like Windsong better.
My name is Darlene, Everyone calls me Dar. Around here we give ourselves names, like chip, flash, Raven, Kolerz (she legally changed it), but I just go by Dar. its short and sweet, just like me!
Nice, your family is Native American? I think anishnabe (no idea how you spell it, I've only ever heard it spoken) is Lakota. it means "true people of the earth" and that'd be an awesome name. Damnit I wanna change
It can be one of many words: anishnabe, anishnabek, nishnabe, 'nish, etc., etc. From what I know, it's not really one particular language or another. It's just a word that means "the people," sometimes it's referenced as "the people of the earth..." Like you've said. My family's native tongue is Ojibwa, actually. My mom's generation (all her brothers and sisters) are half Ojibwa, half Shawnee.
Ah.. I heard it from a friend of mine who's half Lakota half Ojibwa, obviously he heard it from the Ojibwa side of his family
Sativa Starr.. but that name has only stuck online. IRL my name is Amanda.. pretty plain but Ive learned to like it.
My real name is Tanja. i never loved that named, never hated it. i thougt it meant fairy princess or so my friends call me Tanja, or Alice (as in alice in wonderland) and some of 'em call me blacklizard (a friend of my gave me that name years ago) (or junky, but in a nice way. atleast most of 'em) my hippy name would be Ribanna, my mom wanted to call me that. its actually a really funny story. when she whas a teenager she wrote a story about a girl named Ribanna, she run away from home and whas going to live in the rocky mountains. to make it short: its a story about freedom, love, animals and being able to take care of yourself. I love the name and the meaning behind it. but still i dont really mind how people call me, i mostly say: call me as like to call me. its about a person and not about a name.
