You would think that by mentioning the song I'd know something about it wouldn't ya? You keep the link though as sweet as the gesture is.

Anyhoo there are heaps of rare tunes not an LZ albums that Zepps have played and I was saying that FDIV is my favorite. I could have been more clear I guess. By the way the parkway vynl is worth about $150 bucks...I know cuz my dad has one. :p

What exactly is the song? And instrumental? Because I have heard pretty much most of Zep's outtakes in the stuido and have never heard of "A Foggy Day In Vietnam".

Well, I didn't want to assume anything...

Anyway, that song is often mislabeled on P2P programs as a Zeppelin tune etc.. So, I thought I'd put forward some information on it's origin in passing.

ditto that. I had to decide between 3 and HofH...

ETA - what about The Song Remains the Same? some of those live versions are way better than the studio recordings... :)

I was gonna mntion TSRTS too. Dazed and Confused is probably the best song (live). And as for that Foggy day track apparently it's a Jonesy track from 64', so that doesn't really count as a Zep tune.

Jones joined Zeppelin after '64 and I guess I had figured that they played the tune somewhere. I did get it from a mate who got it P2P. It is primarily instrumental but there are some sustained vocal notes which sound and feel like Plant...I don't think anyone doesn't know what I am talking about when I say that. Anyway I have since contacted another friend who is quite the afficienado and I am going to send him the tune. To his knowledge and through every source he's checked, the result is that there is no known recording from Zep of 'foggy day in vietnam'...BUT, according to him that song itself on Jones' Parkway is actual something of an unknown. Nobody really knows who is playing, it has been rumored that Jones isn't even on it and that some of the Stones are on it because Jones used to work with some of them.

I'll post the feedback I get from him...cheers.

after '64 means not before '64. All I mean to say is that Zepp's would have known about Jones' Foggy Day tune. I don't know man I keep listening to this thing and I don't see how it can't be Robert Plant. I mean I think if you ran voice comparison software with the vocals in Foggy Day and say Tangerine it'd come up 100% positive.

Does anyone else have a copy of it?

wasn't plant like 18 when he joined Zep? he'd have been too young to sing on a '64 album. and the foggy day in vietnam.. ..i have about 30 bootleg zeppelin cd's and a few videos, and i've never heard of it.

Well it would likely be on the Antrabata. But it's not on it. Besides you can just goggle it too.

Hmmm...ever hear a band play something a member had recorded before they got the band together? I have. I am too mentally exhuasted to put any examples but there are heaps of 'em. I just want to get feedback from an 'expert'. FeedbAcks coming too...just waiting for the email.

Oh and I'm all along thinking that this 'Foggy Day 'that I now have sounds like it was recorded in the early 70's. Maybe I'm way wrong...i just want to know for sure.

Does anyone else have this? Do you want it? If so I'll organize a yousendit or something...or maybe I won't (<<<<thats in there for the police ;) ).

I absolutely love Zep III, for amazing tracks like "Tangerine", "Since I've Been Lovin You" and "That's the Way".

And then tied for second are IV and Physical Graffiti. I'd say PG first, because I'm so damn sick of people I KNOW have only heard "Stairway to Heaven" who pretend to love Led Zeppelin and say their favorite album is IV. I mean, IV is a terrific album (As in all the tracks, not just Stairway......lol) but I hate how a lot of people who don't really know any Zeppelin call it their favorite as if they have a basis for comparison.

I also really love Houses of the Holy (right now I'm listening to No Quarter and drowning in it's awesome-osity)
