I think you're doing just fine.

The fact that you are conscious enough to pay attention to diet, is really the goal of even a vegetarian diet. It is the mind which commits the "sin", not so much the body.

The state of mind is what controls the state of body. Eventhough you are physically unable to participate, the mental state will still find it's own level.

Moderation. And keep on the lookout for substitutes that might work for you. People change over time about what they can and can't eat. You might get a surprise someday.

I eat pretty healthy. but my concern with my eating style is ... "am i getting enough". I got a bit chunky , because of certain health issues and i have a jaw problem so currently i'm on a soft food diet. I eat rice beans soup canned or home made depending on if we have a busy week, fish chkn red meat doesn't go well with my tummy weird. But i heard Grnd turkey and or chkn is good in sketti. I'm going to slowly try to work my way to become a vegitarian i think because i don't really eat red meat even though i have it in sketti. But what i'm wondering is how would i get the appropiate protien besides beans I'm allergic to peanuts so absolutely nothing with nuts in it. i love salad. Anything of that sort. If anyone has any tips that would be awesome . By all means pm me

Thanks, but I didn't really need to be reassured that I'm not a bad person for being the way I am. I said what I said because I'm tired of people who get self-righteous about their lifestyle assuming that all people who eat any meat at all must eat nothing but meat, or eat too much of it, and assume they don't care about where it comes from.

And since I'm conscious about where mine comes from, I get a bit offended when someone comes out of left field shouting at me that I'm some horrible monster.

We have these handy big brains that give us things like choice, and my choice is to continue to be omnivorous because I have a strong background in nutritional science and biology, and to me it doesn't make sense to have a bunch of substitutions in my diet when I could just eat whole foods. So I'm a whole food omnivore.

Most people who've argued with me in the past about this have been people who, while their intentions are noble, have absolutely no scientific or factual knowledge to base their passions on, and are using emotions rather than logic to argue. Also, they're barking up the wrong tree, because I have a conscious decision to only eat meat that comes from local, small farms. If you want to get preachy and stand on your soap-box, do it to someone who doesn't give a rat's ass about where their food comes from and eats Crackdonald's everyday or something. At least choose the right people to rant at, is all I'm asking.

And if you think I'm less of a person for eating meat, I ask you to open your eyes and look at the world around you. Maybe you need to feel morally superior to those around you and your eating style is your chosen way to do so. However, it does not make you any better than anyone else, because in the end we all eat grain and vegetables that get harvested in an unsustainable manner (even organics, if farmed on a large scale), and think of all the little birds and bunnies that get masacred every time a grain or soybean crop is harvested. Some animals died for you to get your soy products, so don't even start giving me that crap about how I kill animals and hurt the planet...cause you do it, too.

By going into any store that's not completely independently owned by a local person, or a coop type place, and buying the products in there, you are giving your money to multinational corporations that do many, many bad things to both people and animals all around the world, so please stop trying to make yourself out to be morally superior.

All this being said, I will not respond to anyone who attacks me for this post. In fact, I probably won't even see it, so if it makes you feel better to bash me for my opinions, knock yourself out (literally, of course) :reddevil:

A healthy diet contains lots of fruit and vegetables; is based on starchy foods such as wholegrain bread, pasta and rice; and is low in fat (especially saturated fat), salt and sugar. I follow this diet and because of which I am looking young and fit. Besides healthy diet, I even pratice some workouts at home itself which helps in burning out our excess fat.
