You're giving way too much credit to people for paying attention... most are too busy taking the bait that's calculated to keep us divided and at one another's throat to be bothered even thinking about the corporate run criminal organization that the government has become. It's not just that they are global criminals committing war crimes but that they have all but completely mortgaged our sovereignty to creditor nations like China and Japan and the active cooperation of a number of administrations in creating and bursting toxic investment bubble for the purpose of stealing from the working class and enriching Wall Street cronies and under the guise of stimulus and economic recovery enable and actively abet a bank consolidation that will result in a far less competitive and more predatory economic sector.

The economic crisis was not an accident... it was planned and carried out with the full cooperation of the United States government. The fact that people are not massing on their government in the millions suggests that we may well deserve what has happened and is still going on.

Yep- blame the youth because we THINK they're an easy target but never forget that it took many decades of inattention to make this all possible so before laying the burden of guilt on the shoulders of the youngest generations consider that most of them weren't even conceived when all that is our current pile of shit got its start.

I hear all this rhetoric about rogue states and can't help but think that the United States has bobbed to the top of that like a chunk of steaming shit hits the surface of a cesspool. Within a year we'll begin to hear all manner of campaign promises from corporate puppet hopefuls that above all else shows just how gullible and fucking STUPID we've collectively become- without any help from the youth... who will be FORCED to steep in the shit tea that our generations have helped create.

    Good fucking job.

Edit- the rage was NOT directed at MayQueen! :p

I think maybe the hedonism of the 60's youth spread into the culture of consumerist hedonism. When in reality it was all about free love and free good feeling, buying wasn't involved.

I think what's caused this mess is greed and consumer excess. It's like the feel good culture that started in the 60s got thrown into needing products to feel good. Pleasure wasn't free anymore it became a product that was becoming more and more expensive. And ironically our parents taught us how great we are and all this self esteem stuff yet the media and society twisted it into show everyone how great you are with our products! Selling us all kinds of crap to make us feel like we're so important. That led to a self-obsessed, apathetic, youth.

I mean look at Lady Gaga's latest hit for example. She goes on and on about how we're born perfect and show the world how great you are because you were born this way. Yet she changes her look 24/7, looks like some non-human creature, is a sponsor for products, and puts product placement in her videos. If this were the 60's she would probably be completely natural singing about how we were "Born This Way" and don't need to be anything else. Yet she's saying we're born this way but need to change into something else like she constantly does with the help of her designer and corporate friends.

I think the answer is my generation needs to stop accepting what's sold to us and what our parents tell us and start using our own damn minds to think for ourselves. We want to fix the world's problems but we've been raised with a particular ideology that are parents and society says is the best way to live. Eventually some tough choices need to be made because we can't have it all which isn't something my generation gets.

I feel yah. This is exactly why I don't want any part of the government in the US, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Crap. Rev JC said it best - burn baby burn! What we need is not another recession but a MFEM - A Massive Fucking Economic Meltdown.

You people want to maintain the status quo? You want to keep going down the road of consumerism and materialism we have for eons? You're crazy.

We don't need 'sensible saving and spending', we need a huge slap in the face to everyone, telling them - nay, forcing them - to wake up. No government can do this, only a disaster can.

Burn the old and rebuild the new. When you guys are trying to "fix" things I'll be standing on the sidelines watching it all implode and enjoying myself.

You seem to be the master of your situation, then. Good example to follow :).
I wasn't talking against your idea of a balanced view on devices -- on the contrary, I agree with it and even follow it myself.
I was just referring to the real situation, that more often than not folks fail to develop such balanced attitude and that this has even been noticed by them researchers.
Well, since they did their research and you, I suppose, didn't, then I can't refer to the yours.
You sound offended by what I said, although these words of mine obviously have nothing to do with you.
Let's see: you DON'T have problems with interaction, you DON'T have any problems with being balanced about devices and Internet. So NOTHING from what I said has anything to do with you.
So there's no need to reply me in such impolite manner when I didn't even say a word that would concern your personality.

And a couple of words about "what business is it of yours of anyone else's?":
It has always been the business of good parents to care about what's useful and what is not for their beloved children. Well I'm sure you'll learn more about it when you have your own kids... Then those who care about their own, care also about others who are not so closely related. That's LOVE, don't you think so?

Or would you sincerely prefer to be just left alone?

There is nothing wrong or offensive if someone cares about some other one's well-fare. I would rather prefer there was more of such care seen in this world, especially in the family where it belongs naturally.

So, please, try to understand what's being written before giving aggressive replies.

    Regards,
    Kostya

I blame multiculturalism. You aren't allowed to be yourself anymore, because that's racist. So you have act like a halvsie too. And let's face it, this shit ain't never worked.

    Just remember these 2 things:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN6KWwJykq4"]YouTube - Cream Falstaf Beer Comercial (Audio Only)

and Hendrix used to play "See the USA in your Chevrolet" in his live set. So much for purity and serious musicians not doing product placement. Lady Gaga's career is just one publicity stunt after another (kind of like Madonna come to think of it) trying to pass itself off as avant garde art. But that is part and parcel of the entertainment industry.

    Stay Brown,
    Rev J
