From your article: as stated, when cows have infected/sick udders (which would produce pus) the milk is unsaleable and therefore revenue is lost.

This doesn't mean you're pouring your daughter out a glass of pus.

You're dead on with hormones however - as a result all our milk is organic.

Well I don't eat meat (so dont know bout the steak), but there aint a thing wrong with drinking milk. Besides water, it is the healthiest thing a person can drink. Sometimes, I gotta drink like a half gallon of milk just to fall asleep at night (seriously). Milk is fuckin awsome.

No, it's not "ewww" it's actually pretty good. Mind over matter, right? If you think it tastes good, then it will taste good. ;)

Diet is the only kind I'll drink. I don't drink soda that often, but when I do, it's definitely diet. Coke Zero tastes just like the regular stuff. Then again, I haven't had the regular stuff in a looong time. [IMG]

Oh and Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper is pretty good too.

No, I just wanted to go the natural route. I didn't want any pain meds or epidurals. I wanted to prove to myself that I was very much capable of doing something women have done from the beginning of time, naturally. [IMG]

Now granted, I ended up having to have one of my twins by cesarean due to complications, but both of my boys were born pain-med/epidural free. They gave me a spinal to numb me for the c-section, although they wanted to knock me out completely, I cried and insisted that they let me be able to see my baby girl being born. So they let me have my wish.

man i hate doing this,,, cuz quite simply it is quite a waste of my time,,, those that wanna believe the poppy cock bullshit from all these bullshit fools out there that havent got a clue what i tell them aint gonna matter one fukkin iota....

then again since i aint got nuthin better to do ,,,,

    here we go...

yes white blood cells are in the milk,,, yes they can accumulate,,, when they accumulate in quantities like the article suggests, then the cow (bertha) is considered ill...

Any fool human that doesnt notice it is a bloody idiot moron,,,(since when all cows enter the parlor(milking area) they have a small sample taken from each teat and looked at closely,,,, anyone with five minutes of training can spot this,,)however if bertha happens to slip by and get her milk into the system then when the milk is shipped to the co-op it will blow extremely high counts and the milk is no longer used for milk,,,,it loses its classification, its worth and furthermore puts the farm although it may just be a single cow under intense and i mean intense investigation with inspections, complete system and cow testing etc,,,,.. Most often anymore the parlors which is where cows are milked are all computerized and when the cow is milked any differentiation in her normal temp, output, milks samples etc buzzes an alarm and stops her milk from going into the lines....

either way Bertha is now ill and must be treated with some sort of medication,,, whether it is antibiotics organics ,,,, it doesnt matter,,, she is seperated from the main herd and milked into pails that do not come in any way shape or form with the milk from the healthy herd.... If antibiotics are used, there is a withhold period after the medication is completed (also a longer withhold for slaughter) Then when bertha is all healthy again has passed her with hold time she provides a sample of milk which is then tested at the farm, sometimes a local lab does it as well.... If berthas milk is all ok on the levels of drugs in her milk then and only then is she allowed back with the healthy herd....

Hormones....BST ,BGH whichever you would like to call it is legal ... i dont like it or agree with it but that is neither here nor there for this,,,, it is costly,,, it isnt what the media made it out to be,,, i came from a giant dairy area and have lived on farms and dairies my entire life one of which was the test farm for the hormone,,, our results is what the govt etc's studies n shit were all based upon for the legalization of the hormone,,, very few farmers can afford to give these hormones.... I never worked on a farm that used the hormone after the one that was a test farm...maybe 1 farm in 10000 give it to all of their milking herd,,most that do use it use it on a few select cows in the entire herd..... amounts to me are miniscule etc ,,,, not worth paying organic price for however,,,,, i dont drink milk unless it is straight out of the cow....

25 years ago or more now, i am gettin old it was a common practice on small farms to also give oxytocin to cows, small farms often gave it to all cows,,, it is also a "natural " hormone in the body.... better known to humans as petocin,,,, what is used to induce labor,,,, in cows it as in humans induces milk let down as well...however about 25 years or so ago,,, govt tests started picking up excess levels of this in the milk, made limits on the quantities allowed in the milk back to natural levels and drug companies raised the prices to levels that were so outragious that it pretty much other than for fresh(just had babies) cows... it isnt given.... again fresh cow milk is seperate from main healthy herd until tested.... therefore

alright,,, yall have ruined my buzz enough for the time being and i am sick of typing,,,,, bovines 101 is closed...

no it aint,,, highly unlikely as well your friends milk drinkin habit was caused by drinkin milk,,,,, the quantities he drank prolly definitely contributed to it ,, but i can pretty well figger that if one can drink a gallon o milk a day,,,, they be eattin some hella food as well..
