whats the meaning behind ur user name?

I've always attracted a range of nicknames... in sixth form I was Brains after the Thunderbirds character... on my degree course i was Taff because I'm welsh (yes, those guys were very clever)... but I got called Fly during my PGCE year in Birmingham...

I had a bit of a rock thing going on that year... longish swept back hair... shades... leather... U2 released a single called "The Fly" and the guys saw a similairity between me and Bono... hence, I was then TheFly...

Fly has suited me in many ways... I've always been more of an observer than a joiner in... an outsider... a Fly On The Wall... sometimes I like to be argumentative... like a Fly In Your Soup... and I know my self-destructive edge will get the better of me one day... and I'll end up like a Fly On The Windscreen...

After "show me the roof", my favourite song released last year... I registered on, I think, the BBC online message boards last year and used the full song title "showmetheroof", but on screen it would only display the first seven characters, and I thought "hmm, showmet, that sounds pretty good all by itself" so used that when I registered on hipforums in December... I now realise the error of my ways, but I suppose I'm stuck with it!

 

well, (this is the first time i've public-ley told any one my real name), my real name is Victoria & when i was a todler my aunt called me toria or tori, & from that my sister started to call me torz & its just stuck, only my family & close friends know that i'm really called Victoria, its not that i dont like it its just that its a common name & i want something more individual. this is the only forum that my user name is torz, on other message boards & forums my user name is spookyangel.

I was given the name jazzman by bullies at secondary school but I kinda liked it and changed it to Jaz for my own use. Delorean came when I was looking for a stage name and make it more interesting. I looked on the hippie names bit of hipforums and found it, also it's the coolest make of car in the world.....

well, I chose my name because Monkey is the funkiest monkey that ever rocked, born from an egg on a mountain top. Also, the nature of monkey is irrepressible!!!

 

Most people probably know, because there was a post on the old forums!

I'm Smurf because my surname is Smith, and one of my friends always called me by my surname but it sounded like Smurf when he said it. It also kind of fits because my toes and fingers go blue in the cold! The Hippy is pretty self-explanatory, I was always 'that f-ing hippy' around school, even though I wouldn't consider myself to be much of one.

So there we go. Hippy_Smurf it is!

well, probably not as intresting as some but then depending on your point of view, more interesting than others.

me names andrew smart, and in my 1st year of secondary school my english teacher mr.polly nick named me smartie and it stuck. thought i might be able to loose it wen i went to college but no. thought i might be able to loose it wen iwent to uni, but no, thought i might be able to loose it wen i left uni and sarted hangin around with a different social group, but alas some1 from school was in that social group, so no.
i've come to live with it now sinse i've had it since i was 11.
i've been called smartie for longer and by more ppl than i have been called andrew, so really i guess that smartie is actually my name now.

 

Err....I put my name in (Ben) only to find it was already in use....so I just pressed another letter and it was D. How I regret it. Sorry. I guess it's my mother more than anything I should be apologising to. She brought me up so well, father too but they had no concept of the internet and Typo's.

Oh well.....sorry.
