I just got John Lennon the acoustic version of some of his songs that came out not too long ago, and a greatest hits album of CCR. I told my mom to save 'em for my Christmas presents cuz she doesn't know what to get me....
the last cd i bought was a cd for my boyfriends birthday....the new My Chemical Romance cd...then i made him burn it for me
I just got "dub side of the moon" by easy star all-stars, a reggae version of "dark side of the moon".
Last night I bought a CD of Indian Chants done by Ravi Shankar and produced by George Harrison. I was skeptical of buying it because I didn't thinkI would like it as much as something that was just instrumental, but I really dig it.
"Last night I bought a CD of Indian Chants done by Ravi Shankar and produced by George Harrison. This made me think of a group called Sur Sudha I've been meaning to mention -- according to a friend of mine who burned me a couple albums, they hail from Nepal and are attempting to bring eastern music to the west by trying to make it suit western ears better. It'll be kinda structured, verses-choruses, but all instrumental. Anyway I can't say wether they did a good job concept wise as I haven't heard much traditional eastern music, but it is rather good what they do. Mainly with just sitar, flute and tabla action. Allmusic has reviews of two albums, and track 1 of 'Festivals...' would be a great introduction.
