In my experience I've found that the Girth, measured at the widest point (using simple formula ∏ x D), is usually roughly equivalent to that of Length +/- approx 1".

However, it should be noted that the diameter should be measured using a line going straight across the penis, otherwise if including the curve an increased false reading will result, as this is really reading half the circumference (girth). If you are measuring already using a tape measure, then you may as well measure all the way round to start with.
