its cool, you could get a segway and take a regular parking spot and still get out of the parking lot quickly. actually, you on a segway would be quite a sight!
listen if rap was a good influence there wouldn't be psa's like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4jembul5ek
i guess that leads me to this question if you are an entertainer or an athalete in the public eye do you have an automatic responsabilty to teach kids to do the right thing?
hell no. if you are a parent, you have a responsibility to raise kids right. if you are an educator, a childcare provider, a scout leader, member of some kind of clergy, whatever, then you have a responsibility to the children. but athletes? performers? no, they have no more responsibility "to the kids" than a gas station clerk, liquor store owner, or coal miner. they're just people doing their job.
No but you have some degree of responsibility in that you are being followed and if you mess up, chances are there'll be others messing up because of it.
what power? anybody who looks to athletes or entertainers as ANYTHING other than athletes or entertainers is an idiot. sure, its great if they ARE good role models, but its not fair to expect it. they're just people. people should know the difference between right and wrong, and they don't need to figure it out by emulating celebrities. when a celebrity is a really good person or good role model, thats awesome. but there shouldnt be any more expectation of it for them than there is for anyone else.
Growing up we were suckered into what is now old school rap back in the late 80s and early 90s - which was soft and artistic The music just kept getting more and more hardcore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HArC7lJ3Xg Hotwater
The position of the pants keeps getting lower. Used to be up around the rib cage in the 70s. Then below the crack of the rump in the 90s. I predict that in 10 years people will wear their pants at the ankles and will be walking in very small quick steps. .
Yeah, I notice that too. I have got hassled by the latest incarnation of "thugs". I can't complain as I imagine I was a "thug" in my day. I imagine it is just not cool to be an old school "thug" but a new "thug" with attitude is something to buy into. Us "thugs" are all the same but wear differing clothing. But there does seem to be more new "thugs" than I remember when I was a "thug". Perhaps there is more attention given to "thugs" nowadays...so there seems more.
