My brother broke up with his puerto rican girlfriend, she would always have us over for a meal around christmas. I am going to miss her cooking. Should have asked for her rice recipe when their relationship was first starting to get rocky

 

I love Puerto rican rice.
Tony at work brought it for a work party. His wife made a special side bowl of it for me. Tony's wife said to him "make sure Pete gets his personal bowl of rice" Tony gave me a smirk, a pfft, and eye roll handing it over ....lol... said "how do you rate pete" ...lol

 

Good job man!

 

Oh and her coquito. So good.

I'm really going to miss her

 

To be honest I just want the holiday season to be over. All this shit just makes me depressed.

 

I love it, too but it hurts hubby's gums.

 

@Running Horse Me too...I always end up looking forward to January 2nd, the first day things are back to normal. Today is beautiful though. I was outside earlier and noticed a bluebird checking out the nesting box. They always start looking early but it's generally around the third week of January...evidence of climate change maybe.

 

Breakup by association...so sad.

Visiting my grandma right now. We are all certain this will be her final Christmas. She’s 92 so she had a pretty good run.

All my life, Grandma always wore a curly wig that resembled a perm. It was black when I was a kid, then she turned it gray later. She was always self conscious about how her real hair looked. This is the first time in my life I’ve seen her without the wig. She has long snow-colored hair, and I think she looks beautiful in her natural hair.

My cousin got to go back to his burned up home in Paradise CA. His aluminum boat, steel cookware, and a few yard tools survived.

They were good. I think it's because I used newspaper and not wrapping paper.

They didn't see the twine.

When I got the curly ribbon out for the girls boxes that were pre-Christmas printed with glitter on them, one went after the curly ribbon but it was okay.

Maybe newspaper doesn't smell or sound like Christmas wrapping paper.

 

This dude always tells his grandma that her hair looks like a cocaine-fro.
