  3. I don't know if I don't like them. I was a little brash. To hate all Catholics would be ridiculous. I just have run into the worst of them, I think. Even when they don't buy into Catholicism, they're so proud of the fact that they "ditched Catholicism." They act like they're aware of something that nobody else is aware of. It's so annoying.

And then the other Catholics I know do the whole Catholic thing, but they don't really care about it, obviously, because they act like spoiled brats. I hear tale of horror stories where people are too into it, but I've never met a Catholic like that, funny enough.

    Nope, I have ready addressed this;

The words science and technology can and often are used interchangeably. But the goal of science is the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake while the goal of technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life. Simply put, technology is the practical application of science.

Science is the biggest religion of all, making up similar theories to any religion. Unproven hypothesis and theories that atheists cling too, no different to what religious people cling to. ;)

    I don't understand?

Me using a computer to post has no signifance to made up theories about the cosmology of the universe.

    Change my mind.

You have made blanket statements about science in the past, which I suggest you refer back to your science and technology post to change your mind.

A scientific theory is testable and makes predictions that are falsifiable, at least in principle. Sometimes we have to wait for the right technology to be developed before the theory can be tested. Not like religion at all really.

Why? It is pretty clear to me. I don't ever say anything about technology, only made up theories and hypothesis about cosmology and the universe.

If technology succeeds, then the science was right, but everything universal and cosmology related, string theory blah blah are all unproven theories.

    Big difference.

AKA clutching at straws, not too dissimilar to how atheists describe religious folks.

String theory, quantum gravity, the big rip, the big bang, the big tear plus a plethora of other theories are no different to different religions around the world. Do you know why there are so many theories? Because nobody knows the answer. Ie. Science is a religion, you base beliefs on a structures that cannot be proven or disprove just like the existence of God.

Also, none of those theories are correct or incorrect because i use a computer to post on an online forum.. ;)

"Technology is the practical application of science."

    Therefore Computers use science...

That'd be much appreciated if you want to direct your gripes specifically towards cosmology or theoretical physics from now on, I think some of the miscommunication might be sorted.

But I don't post in technology threads, only threads about unproven theories. I don't think I've ever gone into a thread about a computer claimed it to be false, but I've 100% gone into a cosmology topic and Lol'd at the idea of a unproven, untested theory being held as concrete evidence.

And really for me, it's not even about the untested unproven theory, it's the irony that a group of people put down another group of people about their beliefs when their own beliefs aren't any different. Both groups practically believe in the same principle. They believe, because it makes sense to them..

I was an altar boy and had to serve mass 7x's a week sometimes. Some masses started at 6 am.

Wanting to buy a Christmas wreath with lights this year. I like simplicity, some of my neighbors seem like they're in a competition as to who can outdo the other house, with their Christmas lights. It's fun to watch, their houses do look pretty amazing.

Okay, this joke is adorable. :kissingclosed:

Please point me in the direction of this String Theorist here you told to "STFU", otherwise I have no clue what you mean.

Faith, the key to religion. I never had it. I can't explain it but it was never part of me. My entire family has it but not I. I am impressed by those that have it. Seems to work for them and ultimately that is why people turn to religion. Nothing wrong with that.
