What's Happening???

I'm a little ashamed to admit i've never read the Silmarillion. But on the plus side, now I know what i'm reading next

 

The Silmarillion is pretty difficult and boring imo. It's very different to LOR.

 

Anyway I'm bored of the rings.

 

Your not missing anything! guy wrote two amazing books if you count the rings trilogy as one ( which I do )

 

^what do you count as the other, The Hobbit?

 

Anyone read "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" by Stephen R Donaldson? God that book shaped my life.

 

I've read it 14 or 15 times... You seriously don't want how many times I've read all the other Tolkien books.

Yeah... Good series.

 

Having some lunch, the day is so busy.

 

Mowed the front and back yard... Just the parts closest to the house where I'm trying to grow "real grass"

 

Tolkien's little book "Tree and Leaf" is nice.

 

I felt a small tear of recognition well up in my eye.

 

I thought the LotR had boring and tedious parts too. Plenty of them
It's all coming down to the readers love and interest for the background info and lore and mythology of the world of Middle earth. I loved reading it at least as much as The hobbit (easiest read in these series). But i did read the hobbit and LotR several times and Silmarrilion only once in its entirely so yes, that also says something.. But its a mustread for the fan of the other books and is intrigued by the history and lore of the world!

 

I thought it was dumb they made The Hobbit (1 book) into 3 separate movies.

I got a call earlier today from the hospital saying they can indeed move my surgery to next week.
Which is good because I really need to work.
I want to work.

 

Love this band so much. They're dedicated to Tolkien s work. Obviously focussing on the darker side. An Austrian duo btw
