What's Happening???

Kitchen done. Cat litter done. Ice on hip/lower back.

Going to veg out on hulu, now.

 

now? nothing. tomorrow? I get to start sanding/buffing the cast iron to one - clear the crud off of it and 2 - smooth it out so it'll cook nicer (pre 1970something lodge, griswold, etc, any company that made cast iron pans would sand cast them, then grind/machine them smooth. the native pebbly surface started being sold as a feature in the 70's as part of a cost cutting measure so the companies wouldn't have to pay grinders/machinists anymore) so I've got a buffing wheel, and I've got a relatively cool garage, and time. just need to pick up a dust mask so I don't wind up hacking up and spitting globs of iron for a week. gonna feel good to have my hands on metal again.

 

so short a time it seems to have been, from the winter solstice to the summer. much too short really.
happy for you murph. wish i had one. so many things i'd love to be doing if i did.
time i've got that, i guess, if it didn't fly by so fast.

It would be good if you put it clear why you think so. It's not because some opposite but sincere and valid stances were too offensive i may hope?

 

For the simple fact that some people are totally clueless about what they are talking about, especially those that don't even live in the US.

 

Ah so its better to remove threads because of clueless (or more likely just with opposite views on a for you sensitive subject) but sincere people sharing their thoughts, instead of having a good talk why and how they're supposedly so clueless (one of the main purposes of this site)?

My daughter and grandson are leaving for the beach today. They aren't going on the trip originally planned because of the impending divorce. They are going to where my grandson's father lives at the beach.

My son, his wife, and the triplets are at the beach and the girls are doing really good in the softball world series.

My son's oldest daughter is at the beach with her friend's family.

My niece is at the beach.

Several of my daughter's friends, who are also my friends, are at the beach.

I've tried to be strong about the various reasons I'm not at the beach; but to tell the truth, at this moment, I'm choking back tears over not being able to go this year.

I will not cry. I will not cry. I will NOT cry!!!
