Had a catch up with this dude I know from another site today. 6hrs worth. What a tweeker, but generally a good hearted guy very animated in how he talks with his arms. Enjoyed the time together spoke a lot of conspiracy shit was fun I don't get to have those conversations. Just about to hop train back home now. Was fun seeing someone from online I knew for couples of years. Like instant no awkward we knew who we were.

Bought a $50 weed for us, some good shit hey. Haha. I'll sleep good tonight. :p

I'm starting to think weed is just weed to me I mean that's 3 times now this trip I've smoked different strains "omg this is the best" kinda stuff, and I dunno, I just feel the same as any smoke really. But I'm like a 2 cone girl wait 3hrs, while this dude was like every 20mins or so, but I knew that's just gone fuck me right up. I took a good bud with me and gave him the rest my treat. :). We split 8 Bundaberg rums OP too and I had some of his special whiskey straight cleared my throat right up!

If average time before most humans breed becomes 30 yrs old, thus one generation =30 years

Then over the next 10,000 years, there will be 333 generarations of guys and girls just like you saying things like, oh I donr buy games that often, i dont buy ice coffee in plastic cups from starbucks etc.

And those generations would be just from you, and assuming each generation only has one child to replace them.

All those plastics end up getting ground down, most dont actually get recycled, some can never be recycled.

And you havent bothered to educate yourself on which plastics cant be recycled.

Then we find out, you are actually consuming/ wasting more plastics than even most others here on HF you are lecturing.

And as I had mentioned before, we know by default you are wasting more plastics than than 1 billion africans, you are not just responsible for plastics you personally touch in a first world country

Its not enough to just say, oh we should try our best, but never get more soecific than that. Any non biodegrable substances should be banned now if we are going to pretend we care about the future.

Just in the context of the next 333 Asmos, its fairly meaningless, let alone the trillions of humans to come

I thought Captain Marvel was better than most, although mainly because of SLJ

And Voyager is one of my favourite TV shows ever i still watch now and then. It was definately an improvement on the original 60s Star Trek, most of which is jusr shit. Like watching a high school drama class with paper mache props

Short version: Nobody disses Janeway and gets away with it

So because africans use less plastic my point about limiting use of disposable plastic is bogus? And it's not responsible to use and buy as less as possible, just because we still use some?

    Lol

Your argument just screams apathy. You gave up, or don't feel like making an effort you can't directly see the result of or something. Restricting plastic waste is better than recycling.
One of the big reasons it isn't happening on a giant scale.... is people like you who not only can't be bothered, but is even actively arguing for doing nothing.
If the majority would make an effort the impact would be significant. We can fundamentally break this to people with Down syndrome but you are one of the people who wanna argue against it. I may hope its just out of some urge of playing devils advocate.

The short version is: I dont think anyone here believes you anyway Asmo.

In the last couple of pages Ive seen you say stuff like one of the worst things you can do for the environment is eat KFC or burger king

Explain that logic. They buy in bulk, prepare instore and in my country anyway, most of it is served in paper products. Per meal consumed how exactly would KFC go through more plastic, compared to one going to the supermarket, buying smaller amounts of ingredients, most individually wrapped in plastic packaging and preparing a meal at home?

Its not really true at all is it, that eating at KFC is worse than preparing your own meal at home.

Then I saw you wrote eating meat or flying are the worst things......based on the assumption the effect of hydricarbons, CO2, CO is going to be a bigger environmental problem than plastics

Start off with educating yourself on which plastics can never be recycled, and how much of the rest your country is actually recycling

That's cool you think that. Thanks for sharing :p
That point was about meat consumption in general. Yes, it might not matter if you buy cheap chicken in order to prepare it at home, but its the overconsumption of meat altogether. It's often a treat and a snack to drive by KFC. We don't need it. We don't need to eat so many damn chicken. If we would limit it (a.k.a make use of it responsibly) the poultry industry would be significant smaller (same with other branches of the meat industry of course, not in the least cows).
And it of course definitely matters if you buy organic chicken or mass grown and rapidly raised. Do I really need to explain that?
My point was about the individual efforts a person can make. People feel good about seperating trash but don't buy less products with disposable waste (like plastic). I say it's better to buy as less as possible of those products, find alternative ways to wrap or contain things. What's your issue with that exactly?

I didn't say shit about what's the biggest issue. That's your thing. And you seem to bring it up regularly mainly to trivialize the other issue and how people are busy with it; 'oh you can just spare yourself the time. This is what will really fuck future generations up' ...sigh. We need to change both drastically.
And if every consumer would make some effort (that's very bearable to make) we can make that significant change. But not if people get to hear regularly by witty assholes they don't have to make any individual effort. Happily I think no one here believes you anyway :D

I don't think I'm lecturing people on hf btw. I just react sometimes when it comes up. I agree only preaching and not doing anything doesn't change much, but we are interacting on a forum. This is what we take notice of eachother. I don't get why you assume I pollute and produce so much more than the average hipforummer (or care really, but why assume that??).
And yes, I'm all for banning all disposable nondegradable stuff like bags and wrappings. If you recall we've been over that: you were saying don't bother there too.
I also have to laugh at you seperating stuff in countries; what does it matter how my country deals with it? Am i when arguing this stuff primarily the spokesperson of my country or something? I can't say stuff about something because i don't know some exact detail about my country? What's the freaking deal there?

I want ultimate solutions and scientific explanations from fellow citizens who play do-gooder, so I can ridicule their efforts and what they're arguing when it appears they're just fellow citizens; not scientists or know it alls. Oh wait; they didn't say they know it all or were a do-gooder. I just acted as if they did ;)

    On the whole recycling thing...
I heard that things made from recycled plastic shed more microplastic particles than first time round plastic. Sooo... If one of the issues is microplastic getting into our food chains and us and e v e r y w h e r e.. Then recycled plastic is not helping.

@Asmodean I had a thought and wanted to know your judgement.. So, if I fly to NZ once a year that doesn't sound a lot, where as if someone flies to Spain ten times a year it sounds excessive.. But they're still doing less hours and miles.

So is going to NZ every winter excessive?

I woke up... But was from a tummy ache. Dunno why I barely ate anything all day.. 3 small slices of pizza. Just must be this sickness still, I wonder how long it's going to be I tell you I'm not looking forward to catching that plane back east for 4 hours that's going to be brutal on my upper body if it wasn't such a rip off I'd contemplate first class so I could lay down and sleep the whole way.
