Really what they do is use their available data to build profiles of single nucleotide polymorphisms which are small genetic variations. They've collected these from around the world and look for a few hundred thousand variations When they match in enough different ways they can group the hundreds of thousands of genetic variations to regions, not nations.

So statistical grouping. But you're not far related from almost anyone because of certain population bottlenecks.

 

These tests can't be 100% accurate because they're based on patterns that are discerned using algorithims but they are regarded as fairly accurate but not all the time so I don't blame you for beng sceptical.

I was just chatting to a friend about the DNA test and he advised me that not so long ago there a murder and the guy was caught from the DNA that his brother had sent in through the ancestry.com test kit.

So your results are definitely going somewhere and I feel like your results aren't necessarily important either.

Hey all!

So I'm just gonna jump in. I'm weaning off the bipolar medication I am on. I've been gaining weight with it, but also now skeptic that I even have bipolar. I guess thats good news, but I mean I have other problems. Like difficulties... i know that's vague but I don't even really know how to put into words what they are or if anybody cares. I guess it's physical limitations, like i fatigue easy making me kindof lazy because everything is so difficult. See? Boring. But figured since I mentioned bipolar once or twice on here, I'd update everyone with my news. Hopefully I can say I lost weight some day soon too. Maybe going off the meds will help the fatigue too.

If I had the troublesome symptoms of bipolar it might be worth it or worth trying a different med, but I think I'm alright and it was just a poor reaction to an ADHD med I tried at first and poor sleep habits. That's me. Some might think it's worth it or worth trying another med. I am taking Abilify btw. But results vary per individual. My doc was convinced I wouldn't gain weight. Some do and some don't though.

 

Yeah they all act differently to different people. My main concern and instructions to my psych was I didn't want to lose my libido, so I told her I wanted a drug that didn't decrease my sex drive. She also put me on some female supplements designed to increase sexual productivity. I'm not sure what's done what, but I'm by far at my sexual peak more than ever I think. Whether that's the supplements doing their job or maybe my emotions have suppressed to where I'm not so anxious anymore I'm not sure. I seem to be a lot better though, I can feel my anxieties fading away, I'm now just like a feather blowing about, not really phased by much.

I still go through periods of frustration though and although most of my anxiety has seemed to diminish, my... Conflicting? Sporting? Clashing? Anxiety still remains, so I still get anxiety when I play pool against an opponent or something but I do think it's very slightly better. Maybe.
