What's Happening???

Something to do with taste/preferences and the good stuff for you not being in the mainstream channels.

 

The next county over has a serial rapist - 7 rapes connected through DNA evidence.

You don't hear about serial crimes around here much.

 

I think this country had 1 serial killer.

I think the mainstream wants to make guaranteed profits and so takes no risks, only producing derivative work which it knows will sell.

 

Maybe mainstream channels wasn't the best description. I mean the way you notice new stuff.

 

But we were talking mainstream. Mel was saying about what's out in the theatres being not good.. And I apply the same thing to what's in the charts and on the bestsellers lists. I'm not saying there are no good music/books/films being made.

 

I think it's more sinister. Kill the arts and you kill human intelligence. They just want us all to be mindless consumer clones. They push their cheap wares on purpose to fulfill this evil agenda.

 

Yeah, it's something more like that. I'm just not as brave as Neon in saying it like I see it. And I'm not sure if there's a specific "they" or not.

Really, we shouldn't have to dig for quality.

 

I'm not sure I agree the mainstream is void of quality.

 

Eh you choose what you consume.

Apparently we live in the golden age of television.
There's some good stuff out there. With all services available these says, it's easier to pick and choose than it ever was. No one needs to watch the Kardashians or the Bachelor.

 

I am watching movies, YouTube, and went shopping for soda Pop and cards

 

That's fine. We can disagree. I still wanna be friends : )

 

I think the consensus on what is "good" is of a fairly low standard...

Also television might be doing better than music and books.

Everyone can call me a snob. I'm used to it : )

For the record, there's stuff I LIKE, which I also think is "rubbish". I don't confuse my tastes for what is objectively good.

 

I watch cars go around circles for like 16hrs on weekends...

 

Yeah, I just wasn't sure because like, I type in a script number and like, did I make it up or?? Maybe they call the doctor I'm not sure. It's cool though. I bought 3 scripts!

 

I don't mind if my friends are wrong
