My oldest granddaughter wants me to "fix" her hair today.

She had it lightened and highlighted by her aunt, my daughter, in December. It didn't turn out like she wanted it to.

Now she wants it back to what it was or a little darker.

So, we will be off to buy some beauty supplies and to make my return at Khol's.

It was -2 here this morning, had to scratch the car windows (which I had not anticipated at all, even though I was on my bicycle last night around midnight.. felt chilly but not frosty) and heating was necessary. But at around 10 am the sun was so warm here already I just had to turn the heating off completely..! Very nice

It can feel even colder outside, when riding a bike. The wind chill and all. :grimacing:

Especially at night. But i was mildly intoxicated, and kept a solid pace. I did wear a cap instead of a hat though. My ears got most cold. It was rather nice as it was in the countryside and there was hardly a cloud around midnight too (so lots of stars)

That sounds nice, Asmo. Just curious, does your country have DUI laws and such like the states?

Yes. But they're taken far less seriously for cyclists :D It's also not really noticable, most people here who drink regularly can ride their bike fine after drinking a little too much. There's a bigger risk of getting a fine for riding in the dark without light. Happily DUI laws for car (and other motorized vehicles) drivers are taken very serious. One reason to consistently use the bicycle when visiting my friend sunday evenings :D (but for realz: since i drink (only a few) bottles but also smoke joints then I don't even wanna go by car. Risk of getting pulled over aside. The risk of affected reflexes is a good enough reason)

That's interesting lol I don't know if I could balance riding a bike too well, after a drink or two. :tearsofjoy:

No doubt about that! Especially if you're keeping a 14 - 18 mph pace.

I, like most other dutch folks, still laugh at people who wear a helmet while riding a normal bicycle :p (i am slowly admitting they have their use for little kids and old people ;) )
As a kid I rode a bike to school via a small road on which cars were allowed to go 80 km. No separate lanes. These days max. speed there is 60 km and there's a line indicating a stroke for bicycles

    yea, that's pretty fast.

hahaha helmets! You'd laugh if you saw that here. I think it makes sense for motorcyclists and racing cyclists, but I think it's a law here? :tearsofjoy: Have you ever been to the states?
