temps have been in the 20s f, for most of this past week or so. one and off its snowed for a day or two at a time, not enough to more then cover the ground, heaviest accumulation on the ground during when it was comming down so far has only been what looks like about an inch and a quarter, but with freezing and thawing, there are icecicles and of course surfaces are dangerously slippery. sun does come out some days. other then that i've been to the store a couple of times and probably need to later on today.

The kids are out of school this week and my son is off work. The oldest girl had to go to the dentist so I stayed with the triplets while he did the waiting at the dentist.

It was nice because I got to see and talk to my grandson on the gaming console and phone even though he was at his own home.

    That's all I've got.

Not a lot. It's just past lunch time. I'm going to go and sit outside and read.

Hot chocolate under a blanket weather. Reading in that circumstance is quite nice, too : )

I'm scheming about re-doing this crappy floor lamp my daughter left here a couple of years ago. The shades are horrible plastic.

It's a lamp like this one. It's got me thinking.

So there is this state/national certification exam for my new job. It's pretty tough. Many people don't pass it the first time. Most people study for a long time to take it (I have a friend who studied for 8 months and nearly didn't pass). I haven't studied for almost a year....at all. Found out today that I will be taking the exam on Thursday. What can go wrong? :)

Edit to say.....if I don't pass on Thursday, ALL of my required classes that I took just to qualify will be basically voided and I will have to take every one of them again. And pay for it all again. I better pass.

Not the same thing, exactly... When I was in college a psych professor pulled a "pop midterm" that was worth 50% of your grade. Just to see if anybody was actually paying attention.

That's still a big deal! I hope you were paying attention.

To be fair, I've already taken this test. I didn't really study very hard until just a few days before the test but I did pay a lot of attention in my classes. It was a pretty comprehensive test. We were given 2 or 2 1/2 hours to take it. Lots of math, legal and procedural topics. I finished it in about 30-35 minutes and missed 3 questions. (I feel like I might be jinxing myself here!)

After the test, the guy administering the process printed my result. I told him I was hoping for 100% (I seriously was going for that because it sounded almost impossible). He said calmly and maybe slightly annoyed "Young man, I've been doing this for over 25 years and I've never seen someone get 100% before. Be happy with your grade."

The big difference is that back then it was all fresh in my mind and I could take the test again if I needed to. Today, all of that info is a year old and I have one chance on Thursday or I go back to day 1. I was not planning on having to do this again....ever....much less on a 2 day notice.

    It will be all right.

The truth is she’s not very well. It’s not my place to say much more.
