I was hoping Mel or Aeri would have a young country boy in mind for me. :p he's gotta have a Southern accent. I can mould the long hair later. Make sure he has hair though! :D if he doesn't have a property that's cool, I will settle this when I'm an American citizen by marriage. :D

Was there apple sauce on the pork chops?

I can tell you another secret ingredient of mine that works well with pork, because I consider myself a pork genius..

Alright, you get pineapple rings and place them over your pork chops, extra syrup doesn't matter because it's going to go really well with the next ingredient. Splash maple syrup on top of the pineapple.

Mixes in beautifully with the pineapple and the pork fat juices.

Food for thought, next time. :)

I like making pork cuban style, which generally involves lime juice and some other juice from a different fruit, and cumin

Larry, Darrell and Darrell...best BBQ pork chops in Mayfield, KY.

  10. No, not jam or jelly.
Sauce with dried plums. I think they're cooked/boiled/whatever in wine and other good stuff.
I dunno, my mom made it a few times

    It's delicious.

    And my mouth's watering now.

Do you cook with your mum or learned any home made recipes? :)

I have a folder of recipes from my mum and grandma but I find them hard to read. Some are fading bad and I've been meaning to scan and preserve them.

I really feel like we are starting to lose our traditional food and cooking as the generations go by. My own sister cannot teach her young daughter any family recipes because she doesn't know herself and it makes me sad. :(

I try to keep my grandma's cooking alive. I dint have any of her recipes but I remember the taste, and I know when i've gotten the taste right. Thats how I learned to cook actually, just trying to cook foods I remember her cooking because I missed her cooking so much

  15. That's really nice that you have the recipes.
I never cooked with my mom. She is amazing at cooking though, better than both my grandmas. My mom can make anything taste good. My sister is really good too.
I....try. I am not hopeless, I can make a few tasty things, and I manage. If I try, I manage.
But I am very critical about my cooking. It's good enough for me, but I am kinda self-conscious about serving it to others.
I think that's my biggest problem lol.

I guess cooking for me was always a big part of my childhood because I always remember being around the kitchen then on bigger days like Christmas or Easter etc. when all the troops came from all over it was always big meals AND if you helped cook, you didn't have to clean was the rule. :p

If I reflect on it now, my miss was probably missing that portion of her life with her mum as she had passed away so when we became official girlfriends she would always be in the kitchen with us while we got all the meals ready. She has got a lot better at cooking more recently, I mean I still best banging and carry on, more noise than there is food haha but she's coming along well.

I now have a standing mat in the kitchen that is soft as I'm finding I think my back gets sore from standing a lot and this has helped me.

My dad can also cook too but only certain things and he's a big wuss too because he won't use a fry pan or a BBQ because he gets scared of spitting sausages :tearsofjoy: I always call him a girls blouse because I have oil scars all on my arms.

His dish he does well is a rabbit, Wrapped entirely in bacon with sauerkraut and mash. I haven't had that in years and years. :(

That's cool, was she a nice girl?

I did a speed dating event last night. At the end, we wrote the names of the people we liked and put them in a jar, along with our phone numbers. Then the organizers sent us all a text message that included the names and phone numbers of our matches.

I matched with 3 girls. Just sent them all text messages. Now I play the waiting game.

That is an interesting system. Speed dating seems low pressure, too--I've never seen such an event around here, but I might consider it. Glad you made some connections :)
