What's Happening?

My son made buffalo wings on the grill.

I just remembered that I'd bought this to take on vacation with me. It's blowing on me now and it makes me happy!

 

It's currently 95F with a heat index of 106F. :sunny:

I'm getting stuff done inside the house today because we don't have any of the grandkids to watch.

We will be going to Walmart when the sun goes down. It's time to buy more cat food.

 

Just got home from seeing my Father...


I'm beat... I need coffee just to make it to the bedroom to lay down.

 

just got naked and put on the ceiling fan. i am comfortable now.

at 1 thirty i am still in the same state but now i am lost in the fade while playing dragon age.

 

It's only 10:30pm here and I'm on night shift until 7:30. Dare I say, it's very quiet. Going to be a long one although I do have paperwork and education I could catch up on.

All the grandkids have ball tournaments today but it's too damn hot for me and hubby to go sit out in that shit.

It's not even 10:30 a.m. and the temp is 88F with heat index of 102F.

 

Oppressive temps and humidity here lately...

An older couple just rang door bell here and asked if they could walk around and look around saying they used to own this house. I sent Stan outside to be with them. I think I am going to go see what is up with them now, too.

 

Talking to that older couple could be interesting.

Later this summer the girl that grew up in my house might be visiting from Germany. She moved over seas in 79 but knows what this place was like in it's hay-day.... Should be interesting hearing about it's history and about her parents.

 

That was very interesting. they were also with their son who was born here...who is a tall, handsome gentleman now that lives in NY still. He was born here .The couple lives in Florida now, and are visiting. They lived on this property for 45 years and had 3 sons here. Now, i know the people I heard lots about from many people around here...nice people.

i asked them if they ever saw any ghosts here and if anyone ever died here....and I told them about the ghost I saw in this house when we first got here. They said no, they never encountered any ghosts and no one died here that they know of...Now, they cannot account for any indian burials, I suppose.....This was all Indian country at one point.

the house is different now since they have been here. the cop bought it from them...made many changes....rented this place to 4 Culinary students, who wrecked the place....Made more changes and sold it to us. The cop moved after a year of us being here.....and sold his house to the vet.

We made more changes here.....and i feel if the walls could speak now....it is our energy that is mostly here now.

 

Mine is sort of "time capsule" condition except for some of the renovation I've done. The second owners sort of just watched it deteriorate around them.... Most of everything including paint was as her parents left it when they moved out in 1989. I'm making changes, but they are within the "Mid-Century Modern" tradition and some I'm putting back according to the blueprints I have of the place.


I'm not going to mention my ghost because it would be this lady's younger sister... I'm not going there.

I just finished putting down the 6 bags of mulch out front... It's over 90 degrees out, but I was in the shade. (not that it made much difference... 90+ is 90+)

 

I thought the ghost I saw was the Vanderbilt man that owned this property before anyone else......and I have learned he was tall....so he was checking out the new people that moved in around here...That would make sense,. He does not bother me, anymore...I only saw that ghost once.....

He did die in the mansion here....so he haunts everywhere, is my thinking....

 

I'm the only owner of my house.

Perhaps I'll haunt it one day...

 

It's 7 pm and 100F outside so not alot is happening in my world.

Hubby is moving the sprinkler around watering the trees for 45 minutes each.

I'm doing a mani-pedi because I have to go to church tomorrow...
