    I think I'll take a shower.

I'm really hungry but I know my food won't digest well until I calm down some from arguing with the Devil. I could hear my heart thumping in my ears!

lol the clear kind.. unless you like colors .. all I had was black on hand for a couple days.. but noticed the color falls off the skin much faster than a clean coat, hardener..

Ran a 10K today down at the Lake Front. And I gotta admit...I under-estimated the heat. I didn;t realize it at the time, but during my run our Austin heat index was between 100 and 105! Plus it's always extra humid down near the river, with all the water and the vegetation. I shoulda carried water, but I didn't realize there'd be no drinking fountains during the entire 2nd half of my run. I weighed myself when I got home and discovered I lost four pounds. Which for a skinny guy like me is a lot.

I've been re-hydrating all evening, however. Just beginning to feel OK again. I have to admit the run over-taxed me, and pushed me to my limits as far as running in the heat is concerned. I used to do it all the time. Gettin' older I guess.

    Congratulations on doing that!

Yeah, when my grandkids play ball during the Summer and the heat index is 112 F, I don't see how they do it. I wish the adults would have the sense to call the games off when it's that hot. My oldest granddaughter came home after a 12 hour tournament in that heat and collapsed in my arms crying.

Wow..that's dangerous. She was probably close to having heat stroke. When they stop sweating is when to worry. That's an early sign. The body's transpiration system is bailing. Not good.

Thanks for the congrats. But I am not sure that is the right response. LOL My wife would say it is not. She would greet my news of doing my 6 mile run in 105 Heat with a "Are you freaking crazy? Grow up...you're not 19 anymore." LOL

Yah..most adults know better. There is a fine line between testing one's endurance and proving one's lack of common sense!

    Cheers.

I'll have to say that I prompted her into crying.

I told her I was worried all day and that I knew it was very hard on her, etc., etc., etc.

Just me acknowledging the fact that she was in such a torturous situation all day did it.

It was like Grandma understands. Grandma knows I felt like I was dying out there all day. Grandma loves me...

    "Whaaaaa!"

This is my daddy with my son and daughter on the day she was born in 1986.

He passed away on June 20, 2000 at the age of 74.

I wish that he and my grandkids could know each other.

Fathers Day has never been one of my favorite days. I'm feeling especially self pitying today, I usually dont think about it too much but this year is getting to me.

I just keep thinking about my dad's grave and how i've only visited it once and when I visited I got the sense that no one had ever visited it because the flowers were yellow and faded, so I went and bought new flowers.

But that was over a decade ago and now I'm thinking about how faded those flowers are by now and how I should go get more, but I probably won't

So that's what I'm thinking about today, I'm being a little emo

I rarely go to the cemetery either. I'd rather remember my dad when he was young and strong and taking care of us after my mom died. He was a remarkable person and I miss him terribly. I only found out after he died and I was going through his things that he was awarded three times for his service in Vietnam, for something called the Diamond Operations. My brother and I will talk on the phone later, and have a few laughs thinking about the old days I hope.
