What's Happening?

These deer never mix genders unless it's breeding time. I only see bucks mid winter.

 

This may be the doe's grown off spring. I remember seeing a young buck with the doe back when he had buttons.

 

Okay, I decided I'm not getting any of my hair cut on Friday.

Good thing I didn't have the money to do it the other day.

 

It's raining everywhere but on my house.

I think I'm supposed to have "rain in 78 minutes".

 

I gotta plant a River Birch clump and then get back to mowing... Still don't know where I want that Birch though.




This would be oh so much easier with some smoke. Dammit!

Mowed the front yard + a few touchup spots, washed some clothes and been basically lazy like that.


There's so much to do, nothing gets done.

 

trying to organize the house, i am now doing the CDs and i have 1000 or so of them and many are in the wrong case and some were stolen not sure which ones i no longer have so i may hold onto a case for a disk i no longer have. i should get back to that now because its going to take foreverrrrr.

I helped a friend with 2,000. I like library work so it wasn't too bad.

 

I'm sitting on the steps at the VPL, waiting for a friend to get off work, so we can go for supper.

Planted the last clump of False Acacia trees in the back yard. (some are single trees, some are in clumps) I grew these from 9 year old seeds that somehow also survived the fire, planted in 2014. I'm not sure if the seeds grow true. The parent was a dwarf, thornless variety. These? I'll find out when they really take off growing.


False Acacia is Black Locust... They may get moved up to the field in a few years.

 

No freaking rain. It has literally missed us on all sides today.

Now, no chance of rain until Sunday.

The grass looks completely dead, the Cypress have brown in them. The Dogwood leaves are starting to dry out and curl.

I heard you mention a river birch, Ty. I planted a baby one at the last house I lived in......and drove by that house recently. I cannot believe it is the same tree and how big it has gotten already.

 

River Birch are considered medium to fast growers... Only live to about 140 years.


The ones I put in were not in great shape, for $4.99... But had new growth on it.
