I have to go in to the doc today refills.

I hate giving them money for this.

I need to shower but it's cold. I hate getting out of the shower when it's cold. First world white girl problems

 

I can relate to that experience But we have a radiator in the bathroom as well. It's rarely on, only on the coldest days of the year. But I'm wondering... how long does it take you to walk out of the shower to a warm room?

My room is not warm, since it;s cold out. But I did turn my little portable heater on, it helps a little.

 

You don't do central heating in California? Serious question btw. I know its warmer there But I would have a bad time in winter if I wouldn't have a proper heating system in this house. Even though most of the time it is above freezing point.

 

I think I may go back to school. I wont actually lose my job until this fall, they gave us plenty of notice, so i can save as much money as possible until then, take the severence package and cash in my 401k, i'll have 20 weeks of unemployment benefits..so i should be okay for at least a couple of semesters going to school full time without needing another job right away

Now to figure out what i want to study

Wow great you have that option Meli! I would expected it would cost too much so no realistic option. Also because most studies take like 2 years at least of course (here at least!)

 

Just read that puppies can start eating food after 4 weeks. That will be this weekend. Any suggestions on what to feed them or should I just ask google...which I probly will anyway.

Pool started tonight and I'm not sure why this team came down from first division but you could definitely tell that our team hadn't played since November. They were awful. I played as well as ever though I only got up 1/3 I more than held my own against these good players. Everything I was working towards at home came through.

I was the black ball first in all three games, just the first game he flukes a safety leaving the cue in the jaw of a pocket so I had no shot. I had to come off a rail and missed which gave him an extra shot to clean me up. He apologized to me afterwards, I was well in control that game. I didn't let it get to me because I'd played so well.

Game two I started out with a couple of shots at nothing. There was just nothing i could do. I think on my third visit I hadn't sunk anything and saw an opportunity. I ran 7 balls onto the black but so unfortunate I dribbled the cue ball into the pocket on that 7th ball and gave the guy easy run out. He needed both shots to win though. Tried not to let that one get to me either.

Quick turn around for my third game, I came out on a blitzkrieg. Bang bang. Bang bang bang. Bang bang bang. Game over. I left him a mess of red balls down the balk end and finished off with a nice hard cut into centre. I thought about it, thought I could probably double this, but it was very similar to a cut shot I've been practicing. So I went for it and well, I jumped out of my stance well before that black slowly rolled in. I was very happy with that win it was more than convincing. I should have been 3/3 against those good players.

A little upset though I'd done enough last season to work my way into the starting lineup of 6. We have 8 players. Everyone gets 3 games at least so it really doesn't matter I guess. Last season I worked my way to 5th on the roster through hard work. I carried them in the finals and played my best and tonight I notice I'm back to 7th and the weaker players are ahead of me??

There was also one moment where an opponent yelled something bad out about lesbians. He missed a shot and grumbled like "fucken lesbian!" He wasn't talking about me though he was angry at the table. Then everyone laughed and started calling ever missed shot a lesbian... I didn't really get it. I can only think that like, the balls weren't going down so the table is a lesbian that won't take balls???? lol. Bit bloody random! Because they first divs I'd never seen them before. They all shook my hand though and wanted to talk more and get to know me after the match.

I played well tonight. Our schedule is a tough one, I'm looking forward to trials. Then it's just on me to play well and I'm miles from where I was at this point last year.

 

You should not go back to school unless you're going to study something extremely technical and practical. If you do go back to school, do not pursue a degree, instead, look at various certificates (based on which field you want to work in.) Most jobs, especially in more technical and IT related disciplines, will be happy with a certificate and your existing work experience (which, even if it's in an unrelated field, proves that you're responsible and capable of work.)

When choosing a career, try to pick one that's in demand. Here's a decent list:

Thanks for the link and advice, i was thinking along the same lines. I want to do something I can finish within a year that is high enough in demand i'll be able to find a job pretty immediately

 

Life's interesting this evening.

Hubby had to jerry rig the microwave to get it to run.

I found out some incredible gossip on someone who acts like they think they are God's girl child.

The fire department came out and made some teenagers put out a backyard bonfire, which a neighbor called me to rant about.


Interesting tid bits to me.

 

There are very few jerry rigs I would trust on a microwave.

 

I'd grab a bag of Puppy Chow and follow the directions.
