Sounds like one of my days, Pen!

Hubby says he read a weather forecast that says our highs will be in the low 90's next week! :sunny:

I've been giving Brownie Brown very diluted Bragg's ACV in an eye-dropper. He isn't all that thrilled with it, but it could be a lot worse. I've caught him a few times eating litter; but then last night he decided he needed to get up INTO the bottom cabinet above the counter in the kitchen beside the fridge. He was really fast in wiping everything out of the cabinet, or about every thing. Since this is a new thing for him to do, I was flabbergasted as well as I knew he had to be feeling sick.

So on and off (as I would wake up and then go to sleep) I would give him as much of a dropper as I could. It only comes out one dang little drop at a time so he never got a whole lot...which is good I guess since I never gave him enough to make him run away from me. He seemed to be thinking "oh my GOD - what the hey are you doing there woman?!?"

I didn't allow him to remain in the cabinet. In fact, I put some very stiff rolled up paper through the handles so that he can't get either set of cabinets open. He is still sitting on the counter...oh well. He does seem to be feeling a little better.

Brownie is very very shy. When someone even rings the door bell he disappears until he knows nobody but me and Mama (or James) is here. If he gets to feeling bad, of course I will take him to the vet. Otherwise, I'm going to try to doctor him here... since I'm afraid he might have a nervous breakdown if I took him anywhere in that car and then took him in public (the horror! :yikes: ) to the vet.

I can assure you it only seems like that :p But in the case of plastic bottles getting re-used in a creative way (wether I like the kitty concept or not ;)): yes.Seems win win to me. Even if the maker would only make 10 cents reselling them afer 2 years.

Lynn, Brownie might be cold. Did you give him a box or something similar to cozy up in? A laundry basket with some old towels or shirts or something?

(I meant to hit the quote box when I'd hit the like one so fast I didn't know what I'd done. lol)

Before he started all of that, he had been laying on my bed that has a blanket and a comforter. But before I read this, I had put some old soft warm tshirts on the counter for him. He was just half-way interested in them. I'm not saying he wasn't cold, but I don't think that is why he decided he needed to get into the cabinets above the kitchen counters. There are about 100 places that are heaped with clothing, sweaters, some blankets and such that he could have gotten into. But that was a good idea.

He initially began trying to get into another cabinet, but I stopped that. So, being the dumbass that I am, I think that's solved and I go into another room but only for about 3 minutes. Damn if he had gone directly to another (adjacent) cabinet on the same counter and wiped out about everything! oh yeah - boxes of light bulbs knocked onto the counter and everything. damnation If this had been another cat doing this, I would have reacted differently and known they were wanting to be cat-wild, or whatever (I know you know what I mean) but my precious Brownie Brown would never and has never done anything like this. He is acting basically the same physically but yet I do see small differences. He wasn't eating litter and he had begun eatting it again...he even RAN to eat some when I was moving him from the cabinet. He literally eats the litter, not the piss nor poor in the litter...but the litter. and I ALWAYS make sure I get non-clumping litter, since I do know very well that eating litter can kill him, especially if he eats the clumping kind. BUT he had quit that.

    good night alive

Even before I relocated him but I saw what the hell he was up to, I began immediately making up the ACV eye-dropper bottles. I've made up 2...I'm serious here! :) I've been slipping drops of this diluted ACV to him every time I get a chance. Its sort of funny because he can't stand for me to try and put this in his mouth. He'll whip his head around and seem to put a lock on his jaws. Then after I finally get the 2 and maybe even 3! drops in his mouth, he licks and licks almost like he kind of likes the taste, and never moves an inch to get away from me. smh

Since BB has been in a sort of strange shape (physically and mentally) for a while, I've even gotten the brilliant (lol) idea to start dosing her with this ACV also. She is much more verbal about Not Liking for me to put it in her mouth...and yet she is the same way in that she doesn't really move away from me after it is all done and she will lick and lick afterwards also. Apparently they don't mind the taste of it.

Brownie has to be telling you that something is bothering him. If there is nothing new going on in the house that would be upsetting, then he may be signaling that he isn't feeling well.

Get him some catnip. It's good for their tummy's. He may be eating the litter because he wants to throw up. Maybe he has a hairball he can't get up.

You could give him mineral oil for that or even rub some vaseline on his lips or paws so he licks it off.

I did some work around the fire pit today and burned some brush that's been piled in there for months. It was a quick fire but it feels good to have the fire pit back in operation!

Headed back to the yard to do some more "piddling around".

    It's my favorite thing.

Won our first game of hockey. Came home to take off my jeans. I got changed before I was outside. It's (as usual) colder in my house than it is outside.
An hour and a half between my 2 games. So sitting here having a beer letting my mom's dog walking around outside.
Considering another beer. Then I will have to walk to the rink. Decisions decisions...

Take the second beer with you when you walk to the rink and chug it right before you play.

That was the plan but the first one went down so quick I was able to drink the second one before I left.
We lost the second game. It was a disappointing one but we will usually beat that team.

I didn't bump into you on line yesterday either, I don't think.

I was probably asking about you because I think I vaguely remember something about a dream; you were in it; out in the yard yelling something about having found another bee hole, lol
