Democrats failed to build any clear message on:

Global Warming
Clean Air/Water
How we are viewed Internationally
or, anything that mattered to voters who cast their ballot based on social issues.

Democrats were further hurt by adopting solid stances on:
Gay Marriage - loose most rural voters.
Abortion - loose most rural voters.
Stem Cell Research - loose most rural voters.
Socialized Health Care - loose most affluent voters.

Republicans succeeded in:
Keeping the country focused on terrorism
casting Kerry as a flip flop (can anyone actually tell me a bill he flip flopped on?)


Like it or not the states were pretty evenly divided between those with an average of less than 12 years of education and those with an average of more than 12 years of education.

We should have just let the southe Secede from the union and left Texas as the Lone Star.

It seems to me that obscenely wealthy liberals like Ted Kennedy are some of the most outspoken supporters of socialized medicine.

Kerry tried to please all sides on the Iraq war, gay "marriage," and abortion. Philosophical incoherence might be a better term for him than flip flopping.

If you place yourself in the more educated camp, maybe you should practice spelling words like "lose." (Kerry didn't "loose" rural voters.)

 

Most of our Government officials are pretty wealthy. Needless to say those who can easily afford health care are not very interested in Socialized Medicine. Duh!

Agreed. He tried to please all sides and people felt this was confusing. I failed to see it, but Bush did a good job casting him in this light (true or not.)

Or, like Ted Kennedy & friends, they support it for political purposes and realize that they can always buy their way out of the system if it doesn't deliver on its promises.

They are elitist assholes and they neglect rural America.

They like to ban shit.

They don't take advantage of the fact that the Republican party is no longer conservative.

And they continuously allow the media to push them around.

No wonder they lost.

 

Whats wrong with rural America is more like it

They live in islotated unchanging communities that have been stewing in their own juices for decades...they eat way too much, they are knee jerk reactionaries with no understanding of diplomacy. They have no understanding of the world outside the US because they are too poor/too uncreative to ever leave....and if they did they would receive the brutal ridicule that they deserve, they dislike people of any other ehtnicity than pure white, they listen to terrible country songs that talk about how they don't know the difference between Iraq and Iran..........and most of all, they allow themselves to be hoodwinked by trivial social issues while ignoring the big picture....


Whats wrong with America is more like it...the president is supposed to be more intelligent than the majority of the people.
