I consider my self a tomboy, I don't care about hair, nails and make up. I don't wear dresses or skirts. I 'm just me.
That is totally true. My personality is girly and feminine, yet I like video games, playing guitar, watching some sports, and I also don't dress in a very feminine way. I'm not really masculine in any way, so I'm definitely not butch, but some would still class me as a tomboy because of my interests I guess... lol Then again, I think those things I like are just stereotyped as being "male interests", rather than that being what the actually are.
A tomboy is a term that used to reflect those females who 'rebelled' against the conventional view of society, refused to be 'Girly, Girls' with dolls, keeping opinions to themselves, playing house with tasks such as doing the cooking, cleaning and washing up as the norm. They found enjoyment in the things that boys did, like sports, climbing getting dirty and generally messing about, basically being 'one of the gang' > Not meant to be sexist, but that was what is was, 'back in my day'
