please don't do november rain. the poor thing will have to put up with people doing their best (or worst) axl rose impressions for the rest of it's life. that's just mean.
if our girls had been boys: I liked William Robert, after DH's and my fathers, respectively. DH was afraid I'd call the child BillyBob, and he's probably right, so that one was out. We liked my maiden name for our first child if she had been a boy. Our second would have been Zane. I'm just not so into weird names for kids. Pets, yeah okay, but not human babies. Just my opinion. Name your kids whatever you want. If I'd been worrying about what people think of it, my oldest would not share her name with half of the (adult) female population in this country, but she's named after my best friend and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My boyfriend actually used to know a couple (on tour and such, in passing) who named their little boy (no shit) DIGGETY DANK. Needless to say, the ending to their story was not a very happy one. I think he ended up renamed and adopted by his grandparents...
My son, who will be born in a couple months, will be named Mandred (Man-dread)Duncan. If he had been a girl he would have been Norrie James (after my grandparents)
I'm having a girl....I'm still thinking, but I like: Ava, Grace, Aubrey, Payton, Avery, Genevive, Brynn, Desirae, Blair. If he'd have been a boy it would have been something -Lee....that's my boyfriends moniker, his brother and he both have it....it's after their dad. So, my girl may still have the -Lee for her 'middle' name. Not too sure yet.
Brian's gramma was named Malilee (Ma-lily)...I always thought that was a beautiful sort of southern name. Maybe you could use that, MoonFlower
I am using family names to pay homage to the women I admired most in my life. My maternal great grandmother and my patenral grand mother. My little girl will be Phoebe Charlotte, I can't wait to say her name to her!
You all have such great taste Not children per se, but my fur-kids [they're both rabbits]... Branwen Felicity = Branwen means 'fair raven' (ie dark beauty) which suits her apperance; and the original Branwen was a princess/goddess, which suits her personality. The womyn at the rescue centre had provisionally named her Lucky. I liked the sentiment, but prefered something more elegant. So chose Felicity as that has the same meaning. If a boy = Kieran Phoenix [Kieran means 'dark', and Phoenix for the symbolism] Casey Jack = after Casey Affleck as I like him as an actor and his veggie/AR principles. The name itself means 'fearless', which is quite appropriate. Jack was after Jack Kerouac, because he was pretty good writer, though perhaps 'Jumping Jack Flash' is more appropriate. If a girl = Eris Hope [Eris is the Greek Goddess of chaos, Hope because we'd need it] The name we've picked out for our pup-to-be is Charles 'Charlie' Cash Charles was my maternal great grandfather's name, and he was such a good person so we want to honour him. Still that name seems a bit too 'serious' for a puppy. His middle name was an inspired moment during 'walk the line'. My brother and I are fans of Johnny's music, and Charlie will have black fur. Has the same playful ring to it as Case's name.
Hmm ... Trinity Kieve ... Micha Alexander ... Ender Jacob ... Malachia (haven't thought about a middle name yet) ... I have alot of names in mind, just no children!
I just recently heard a name for a boy, from the Celtic. Ciaran (pronounced Kay-Are-In) I really like this. I don't think I'm having any more kids (I'm 44 and my dh even older.) but my dd Moon likes this name, too.
I love Celtic names too, babynamesofireland.com has so many great ones listed, with pronounciation help [you can hear them spoken] and all that good stuff.
