i'd really love to have a horse.. i ride a lot but have never been able to own my own.. it would be a lot of work but it would be worth it
we had theese little wild lizards in purto rico. lagartias .....they would hang out n eat bugs n stuff......ducks are quite amusing .......
oh man... at the zoo, I saw a whole tank of jellyfish and i can only imagine looking at them whiile tripping. they are so beautiful. What a good idea to have them as pets...
really its not a good idea. jellyfish dont belong in tanks just so humans can have the pleasure of looking at them or "owning" them. animals werent put here to be pets. i know this sounds a little bit serious in a lighthearted thread but it drives me crazy when people insinuate that its okay to hijack a life and keep it in a cage or tank for our entertainment. of course animals are domesticated and thats the world we inherited but.......alright im done.
raccoons make really good pets, i had one named squirrely, he was more fun to have around than a dog.
don't underestimate fish. some are very entertaining. i'm not talkin bout goldfish and shit. i have some really cool fish (betas are pretty cool, opium_eyes--if you hold a mirror up to the tank, they think it's another fish, and they flare out their fins to show off! sorry to hear bout floyd) most of my fish, even my "bottom dwellers", come up to the top and eat out of my bf's hand... they all have personality, they're not just boring goldfish or tetras.... as far as keeping them in a tank, we have huge tanks, and keep the water very clean. they must be happy and healthy cuz they've been breeding like crazy, so now we have tons of baby fish, too, and we just keep setting up more tanks..... the stores think it's ok to keep betas in tiny cups cuz they can live in poor water conditions, but there IS a difference b/w surviving and thriving....i think the little beta bowls are cruel. we have plecos and botias (loaches) and cory cats....we have 2 ropefish...http://www.catfish.cz/ruzne/bichirek/bich1.jpg (that's not mine, but that's what they look like) we also have a tank full of colorful african cichlids... and we just got a baby softshell turtle. this is him: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/melonhead420/fish%20and%20turtles/P1010205.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/melonhead420/fish%20and%20turtles/P1010204.jpg well, back to the topic, fish are sooo much easier to care for than furry animals (also, no furry pets allowed in my apt). we can go away for up to a week without worrying bout them (well, we worry, but they're always OK when we get home). we don't have to take them out to pee or clean up their poop....well, we do clean up their poop, but it's different. they're really super-easy to care for, and soo much fun to watch. i like dogs and cats, but they are a lot of work, and if you have a crazy sched like me, you can't spend as much time w/them as you need to. they need to be trained and fish don't. and fish don't make messes on the couch, or shed. peace. LP
I'd take any of those! Except I'm allergic to cats and dogs (cats are my favourite animals), but in my own fantasy world, I'd take 'em.
I chose a barnyard animal, because I love, love, love cows and pigs. I think they are so intelligent and so beautiful. Not to mention, I love taking care of animals, and they would require some work. Of course, I have to put in a vote for fish too. I love fish. I totally disagree that they have no personality. My last fish, Cixi ( pronounced zoo-she), was a beautiful blue and red betta. He did have an awesome personality, and he was smart. He knew when I was going to feed him. He was so beautiful.
I love dogs, especialy small ones. I used to have rabbits when I was little, wouldn't mind adopting more someday.
I have to say chickens or pigs. Really! I've never had one, but they continue to amaze and surprise me with their intelligence and can be very affectionate
