Honestly, I would love to live incredibly close to nature - on a farm, growing my own food or living in a commune/something like that. I'm a lot concerned with how my children would grow up in a level of living like that (no education? what about college?), and that I would disappoint my parents by not having a prestigious career and living near them.
Ever since I was a wee one, I've wanted to live a nomadic lifestyle live in a tipi made of garbage (old tarps, narrow PVC piping, duct tape... I think a lot of improvised materials could be gotten very cheaply and wouldn't be too heavy to transport). Still dreaming. Maybe I'll do it someday. I'd like to do at least for a little while. It'd add an interesting chapter to my life.
My dream is just an old log cabin in a valley with a creek and some trees. My friend sent me this link the other day and it is intriguing as well though. http://www.freespiritspheres.com/ I had never seen these before but it is a really cool idea.
I had in a earlier post where I said a tipi but have kinda changed my mind. Today I made a delivery to a greenhouse and it was awesome, natural light and a open area. It was a tad bit chilly but not near as cold as the outside was and with a wood stove it would be perfect.
i was just about to suggest these houses, only i was going to have to go for a look around the net to find out the name. This is exactly the kind of house that i would want, type wise. The earth is a great insulator, and these houses blend so well with their surroundings, so long as they are not in the middle of an city like new york, etc. I like it :cheers2: Circle eace:
i built a 30 foot yurt in the back yard. alot of the neigbhors went apeshit over that! so many people think a house has to be a box. when i lived in seattle, i lived in a 1977 school bus, i bought for $4,500.00. sold it three years ago for almost $19,000.00 (made one hell of alot of improvements to it.)
