What will you miss in the Future?

Discussion in 'The Future' started by skip, Jul 9, 2018.

  1. Also we will discover there is a Heavenly plane of existence despite the fact that we can live forever, so most people are going to want to die.

People not looking at their phones every two seconds while you're talking to them. It's funny, my friends are always staring at their phones but they manage to never respond to my texts lol

Already your phone is your watch, calendar, source of all human contact, calculator, bank, and camera. I mean anyone with an iPhone is apparently a photographer now. In the future I'm sure phones will be even more integral to daily life. Apparently kids these days don't even make phone calls anymore. How much more impersonal can we get?

not a whole lot. there are a lot of things i will notice not being there.
i could list those, but most of them, i would probably not miss at all,
not with how i could, were i free to do so, replace the function of.

there are things i'm already missing though. the level of per capita public transportation.
i'm sorely missing that one already. both in cities, but even much much more, in and between smaller communities.

easy access to public libraries, and access to university engineering and science libraries at all.

brick and mortar model hobby, computer and electronics stores.

but again these are all things i'm already missing.

hippy type brick and mortar groceries, resteraunts, musical instrument and novelty art stores and galleries.

small towns that are or were hippie, or what i would consider to be hippie, dominated.

a relaxed atmosphere of NOT making everything have to be about money. or credit.

not having to have a car, a phone AND a line of credit, and a card to go with it, to be able to rent a decent house or apartment.

all of these things i can think of though, are things i'm already missing.

some of them exist in other places, and may, hopefully continue to.

but it wasn't long ago most of them existed where i am now too.

Mama's love is irresistible, and she loves to play slap and tickle, upon her squeeze box. She's playing all night, and the music's alright, but daddy never sleeps at night!

Ill miss salmon a lot. And other seafoods, as Skip said. Hopefully we can still keep rainforests and other natural wonders from being wiped out.

Does that mean we can return the future for a full refund?
