4-way AMBER WINDOWPANE was the the first form of LSD that I dropped, but it was way TOO POWERFUL and INTENSE for a first trip!!! You get what you get and you must be prepared for an INTENSE trip, if it happens. It looked more like a small, flat piece of plastic, rather than gelatin, but it was definately AMBER WINDOWPANE.

As the other posters on this thread have mentioned, the WINDOWPANE form of LSD (first appearing in 1971) was usually a very powerful form of LSD. For example: PeaceLuvinHippieTaz stated that: "4-way windowpane was the shit! A major trip!". runu4ea stated; "I think it was called Windowpane. All I really remember is how the wall turned purple and ran down to the floor." rubymontana stated: ". . . windowpane.....weird, and uncomfortable shit was what I experienced. Thought I was losing my mind." I too, will testify to its power and weirdness.

I dropped my 4-way AMBER WINDOWPANE tab in my dorm room at Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) in the April of 1974, standing over a sink in my bedroom. One of my "trip guides" was a California biker, who called it getting "ripped on acid". I sat down in a chair in the living area of my dorm suite and about 15 minutes later, it began to work. I noticed a patch of red color floating over my lap and my legs and arms looked unusually skinny.

I went into my bedroom area and I got high, very quickly! It came on quite powerful and scary! I had a brief, extreme rush of energy, as though a nuclear explosion was flowing through my body!!! Shafts of green light shot all around. I experienced ego-loss, death and a fear of going insane. I almost lost it then, but I held on and it became much more comfortable.

The initial, SEVERE VISUAL DISTORTIONS started (common with powerful acid are: "stretching" rubbery walls, "bubbley" distortions on people, objects melting like wax, "breathing" walls, objects (like bricks) in a wall becoming smaller and bigger and the tops of objects "melting-off" when you turn your head quickly), mixed with some vivid 3D visuals, like smiling faces on the individual bricks (on the brick wall), a big earth-globe intersecting with the living area floor and wall, flowers growing out of the carpet and an oval-shaped transparent sign (with an orange and aqua peacock-feather pattern on the background, the word: LSD-25 over it, in big RED letters, and a big red rose next to it - FLOATING above my suite mate's desk).

I saw rainbows around objects. Quite beautiful! Possibly with some colors I've never perceived before! They "tasted" good! Objects in the dorm room were "multi-imaged" (like "frozen" tracers). Regular "tracers" and "trails" occured, also, with colorful patterns on some walls. When my biker guide blew lit tobacco sparks (out of the cigarette he was smoking) it looked like fireworks-rockets shooting past me!!!

I looked into the medicine cabinet mirror to see if my face was distorted (or morphing into something), but it looked pretty normal, except for my totally dialated eye pupils! Everything around me wasn't normal, dispite of my fairly normal looking mirror image. However, while staring into the mirror, I felt swirling sensations OUTSIDE OF MY BODY, to the left and right of me! When I looked to my right, I could see three red-colored swirls (placed on top of each other), about 8' away, and when I looked to the left, I saw the same thing!

In my suite-mate's room, I felt like I was walking through "electric Jello". The air was unusually thick and heavy. I sat on the edge of a bed, with my back against the brick wall (which felt more like a soft, mushy sponge). I was "quivering", vibrating and shifting between multiple dimensions. I was very "electric", but then I experienced the most pleasurable state of COSMIC ECSTACY, that I have ever experienced in my ENTIRE life!!! WOW!!!

About a few hours later, I PEAKED., and it was TOTALLY INSANE!!! I went upstairs to another dorm room (my biker guide's room). When I entered the room, it began to MORPH into some kind of time tunnel or STARGATE! One wall was totallly turned into outer space (with pitch blackness, stars and galaxies). The opposing wall totally disappeared and the dorm room was twice as big! Then a totally transparent (glass-like) time tunnel shot out of the universe wall and surrounded me completetly on all sides and extended into both walls into INFINITY! It was sort of oval-shaped and about 10' tall in height.

Holographic time images floated slowly down the tunnel, toward me and away, of groups of people. I saw a red ball bouncing all by itself, going down the tunnel, then past me.

On the side of this time tunnel was a glass, pill-capsule shaped object about 4' tall from the ground and 3' in diameter. Just underneath the glass were many connected florescent TV-like images, flowing all around in slow-motion. Some kind of stargate control? It was totally 3D and real!!! It was totally TOO FLIPPED OUT!!! I saw smaller "time images" floating up by the ceiling and when I looked down the time tunnel, I felt as though my mind expanded across the universe! I saw other people and objects in the room, that weren't there before. I was way TOO HIGH and I thought: "This is really MESSED UP!" But I went with the flow, remained calm and "grooved" with it.

A few hours later, after going into a CIRCLE K store (like 7-11) and then to a WHATABURGER resturant (joking about "fur burgers", while eating in the car), still tripping quit hard, the Magical Mystery Tour part of my first trip ended, back at my dorm room. I was left with just with "speedy" after effects, which effects more people than others. But usually only powerful acid is "electric" and "speedy", but only in parts of the trip. Most parts of the trip were more calm and comfortable, though. The intensity of acid seems to come in waves (like HASHISH). INTENSE, then comfortable, INTENSE, then comfortable, and so on.

My first LSD trip was WAY BEYOND my expectations in power and wacked-outness, but it did everything that LSD could do!!! The bizarre "feelings" and "sensations" that I experienced: like my mind expanding across the universe and connecting to ALL THAT IS (HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE PARADIGM) and like "freshness" and "newnesss" was more weird (and sometimes scary) than the VISUAL DISTORTIONS and 3D VISUALS!!!

It took a few months to re-integrate my LSD experience, and feel more "normal". Still, it was cool and I'm glad that I had one VERY INTENSE LSD trip experience. I couldn't do this intensity everyday! Later, it really did cause positive MIND EXPANSION!

A QUOTE ABOUT THE LSD EXPERIENCE FROM JOHN SINCLAIR:
"The effects of LSD was really heavy," acknowledged John Sinclair, former head of the White Panther party in Ann Arbor, Michigan. "Acid blew all sense of proportion, all sense of a frame, to smithereens. I mean it just blew the frame right out of the picture. . . . It gave you a sense of infinite possiblity. You could do anything if you just DID it---totally! You could walk right into the sky." ACID DREAMS, By Martin A. Lee & Bruce Shlain, GROVE PRESS, NY, c 1985, 1992, pg. 217

"Excuse me, while I kiss the sky!" - JIMI HENDRIX

This is right on so many levels...CSN&Y, It's a Beautiful Day, Ravi Shankar, just very mellow and turned on stuff, out in the real world, where the cycle of life goes on...

I think the name of my first acid tab was Freedom. Enlightenment. Bliss. Exctasy. The Divine. Surfing on the Astral Wave.

I really do think many of the world's problems can at least be more rationally addressed by those who have a different perspective, and LSD gives one that perspective. I know the modern orthodoxy is "well, acid was ok, but it didn't solve any of the world's problems, or even MINE." No, it didn't but it was never given a chance, was it? It was shut down and demonized in short order. That's no different from Socialism. It was never given a chance, either. The entire weight of the WASP ruling class of the US and the UK were thrown against it. There was never an impartial examination. It's like starting a race with 2 runners, and, a tenth of the way into it, crippling one of the runners, and then saying "Ahah! See how weak that runner is? The fact that he was crippled and couldn't make it proves the superiority of the other runner!" Even a child can see the faulty logic in that, and yet, it's one of those "facts" that are endlessy repeated here and elsewhere.

I hope that I have the opportunity to have many more meetings with the Supreme Sacrament before I shed my mortal coil.
