2001 ford windstar minivan with 200k miles on it. relatively reliable, well broken in, kinda reminds of one of the ones used for church group outings.
had negative battery cable trouble yet?...they are notorious for bad cable that causes all kinds of weird electric problems
2014 Ford Fiesta. I got it for road trips to Illinois. Last time I checked the gas mileage it got 42 mpg. Then there's my 1989 Toyota 4x4 that I prefer to drive; 240,000 miles and still runs good.
My sixty-five year old jeep won't go faster than 100 km/hr So I have a 2011 mustang convertible for the highway commuting. I hate the less than 200 hp V6 engine and the automatic tranny. But I got it for a good deal I had a hard time saying no to. And it's a good for cruising this time of the year.
Designed by Bryan Nesbitt, the same guy who did Chrysler's PT Cruiser. Detroit was going through a retro phase at the time. The PT Cruiser was meant to be a mini minivan and was based on the looks of 1930's era cars. Chrysler produced over a million Cruisers and GM wanted to get in on the action so they developed the HHR. It didn't sell as well.
Nothing sold well during the recession, it's not the car that was the problem. The HHR is hands down the better of the two designs from a structural and safety aspect... Looks better too.
I Fail To See The Comparison Between These.....The HHR Is Twice The Size Of The Cruiser..... And In A Totally Different Class Altogether..... Cheers Glen.
well pretty much every vehicle was for its usefulness. its been years now, decades even, since the last time i owned on, which was back in the mid 90s some time. what can i say. i LIKE public transportation. both aesthetically and environmentally. (and i don't like what car culture does to how the landscape looks) they've always been refugees from the scrap yard too. (i don't think any of them were less then ten years old when i bought them) because i was able to pay cash for them, instead of having to indenture myself to a bank in order to have one. i've always favored vans/panel trucks. other then a couple of two wheelers, a little honda (55cc) and a little suzi, (125) the only non-'truck' vehicle i've ever owned was an amc hornet (compact wagon). today, if i owned any kind of a car, i would have to sleep in it, because there's no way in hell i'd be able to afford anything else. it WOULD be nice, to not have to be stuck in cities, but once upon a time, within my own life time, you didn't have to own a car to not be. the only 'car' that would 'fit' me as a furson, would be solar powered narrow gauge public transportation railways.
Indeed it does look a lot better than the PT Loser. It's more a more spacious wagon as well. I like the HHR, but I don't care much for the name. The PT Cruiser looks like a Plymouth Prowler and an AMC Pacer had a deformed baby
My first car was a VL Commodore. Then I had a VS Commodore which I handed to my little sister when I left the country. The VW Rabbit lasted several years before I moved onto the Ranger and I've never looked back. I love my truck, it's been 2 years but I still jump into it excited. I've put a few war wounds onto her but that's just adding character, she's no show Pony. I've yet to really do any serious 4x4 driving, I have fun on dirt roads though, I need to dump a lot more money into her to get it ready for 4wd with friends. Lots of trails here online say "winch minimum" so that scares me lol. I also need a recovery point that's better than stock and I would also like so under armour. After we stopped someone's else's wreck with our nose 6months after buying it, I fitted her with a chrome bull bar and and ARB combination light bar, I love the light bar, it just lights up everything in front of me and turns deer the opposite way. It's that intense that they don't even stop to stare at it, they have one look and get out of the way.
Every now and then I'll come look at this thread...I've told how I love my Crown Vic. Farmers swear by the Ford F150 trucks. But I grew up all my life not being a ford fan. ha Anyway,.,,I came here now to talk about and tell my son got a new (brand new) Jeep Wrangler. You can even take the doors off!!! Which I have seen it all taken apart and tricked out. He got his lifted a couple of inches also. I think he'll be the type that'll always have a jeep from now on. My son is a 2 car guy. (He isn't married lol)
still got my 1948 shank's mares. them and the city bus. also intercity bus and train, of which not many anymore.
