Sweetdreamlover, I say that if you wish to bring it up do so in a casual, non-confrontational manner. Should it come up just ask her why she doesn’t feel the need to do it for the fish as well. Give her a few reasons why one shouldn’t eat fish, like how polluted our waters are and over fishing. Keep things friendly, since you do enjoy having her around. Even if she does not change right there, you may well have planted the seeds that will lead to change later. Sometimes a few words can make a big difference later down the road.

Tofu has omega-3's? Is it a special kind or something because I have not seen this.

Flaxseeds are probably the best vegetarian source of omega-3's, as well as the cheapest. You can buy the whole seeds in bulk at a really good price then grind them up as you need them.

This happens to me a lot. The people who claim they're vegetarians but eat fish try to tell me that fish are not animals and can not feel pain.

it's not the fact that she eats fish...it's the fact that she is claiming to be someone that she's not. It's kind of like if I said I was gay, but still got with males.

i dont think that is really a fair analogie bumble. people's sexual identity is entirely their own, people can engage in sexual behaviors inconsistent with their identity for any reason they want, but what they identify as is pretty much up to them, we cant know how they feel. eating meat and saying your a vegeterian is in direct conflict with the definition of vegeterian. saying your gay and having sex with the opposite gender is not. gay means that you are attracted to the same gender. whethere your actions always reflect that or not doesnt really make a difference.

Who cares if she claims she is something that she's not? You can casually say, "Gee, I didn't know veggies ate fish...", but to make a huge ordeal about it, is kind of silly, imo.

I know I hate it when meateaters berade me or try to make me feel bad about what I eat, or don't eat...so why would I do it to anyone else?

Only correcting them when they try to tell me I'm wrong in my decisions of what I eat or do not eat. Otherwise, I don't really care.

i once read a quote that went something like this.. each person were to sweep their own front steps , our world would be a cleaner places...in other words....if everyone stopped worrying about what is wrong w/ everyone else..and became the best person they can..maybe our world would be civil...

i say don't get caught up in labels......

I'm sorry but I read it here one time. The term pesco-vegetarian. Is that a real term? If so pescaterianism would be a subset of vegetarianism. If not, then it's not.

Just want to get the technicalities.

'tis true...some may argue that fish are not sentient beings, therefore, they feel OK with eating it.

    There's also lacto-vegetarians and lacto-ovo vegetarians....

so if we are a subset, do "true" vegetarians have the right to bitch at us.

wow. that does makes it complicated....

We're all one big happy family right ::wink wink::

Well, seems to me "real" vegetarians are actually VEGANS...

I mean...there's lacto-ovo...which is still eating milk and eggs...

Lacto...which is not eating eggs, but still drinking milk...

    Pesca...which is still eating fish...

    So...what's left, ya know?
