I will help you sell all your shit and sort everything into a lightweight backpack with which it is easy to jump trains and float down rivers in inner tubes. Then we will travel to Big Sur in early spring where we will live by the sea under a tarp take acid for a few days after which we will hitchhike the entire west coast, perhaps making a bayonet east into the mountainous centre of the country and doing some epic hiking trips, after which we will finish up with coffee in Seattle with bunny suit, then hitch across KANATA and finish up in Nova Scotia listening to scottish music at a pub by the sea.
I forgot Vegas, the whores we pick up in Tijuana, our job harvesting dope, the gentle strolls through Berkley whilst discussing existential matters, Niagara falls and our long stay in a Buddhist meditation center in California.
Can we skip Niagara Falls? I'll take you to Foz do Iguacu, in Brazil- which is 10 times more beautiful. I'm excited about the Tijuana bordellos, though. For sure--.
Mos def. I am considering doing South America also, perhaps when winter comes and I look at my financial situation.
Seattle WA a must for many reasons Leavenworth WA its really cool Hwy 2 across Montana Little Big Horn battle sites Grand Canyon Wind Caves in Dakotas Mount Saint Helens I could think of so many more places I had been that I loved.
If you get the chance drive up to Mount Pilchuck in the winter, its awesome Coal Creek Lake is nice A nice drive through the Conconuly Valley past Fish Lake and such Take Whites Pass, Washington Pass. Chuckanut Drive Deception Pass If ya have a boat cruise the San Juan Islands Ocean Shores is nice too.
my family has a place in ocean shores and it is the most miserable place in the world. i've never seen another person under 45.
the 'burbs of those big cities are incredible. there are wonderful places to go in and around austin, for sure. you should definitely check out the coasts, west and east. the oceans and the mountains are glorious, check out the appalachians and the rockies.
I'd land in New York, spend some time there and then hitchhike to Los Angeles. 'twould be one hell of a trip.
The coolest place I saw across the whole northern border of the USA was the Badlands National park in North Dakota... Really.. Maybe its in South Dakota I cant remember.. Its like an Alien world
savannah georgia should be on your list,st augustine florida is another beautiful historic town that shouldnt be missed.. as far as off the beaten path unspoiled wilderness i am partial to my back yard..lol the cohutta wilderness in georgia is the second largest wilderness east of the mississippi.. oh and the upper penninsula of michigan is another must for unspoiled wilderness. you must do the rockies ,take the back roads between denver and salt lake, you wont be dissapointed. the seierra nevadas are a must as well, leave from reno towards sacramento, make sure and stop at grass valley nevada city, then wind your way up towards shasta, follow the coast up to eugene,or all the way to seattle then go east.. i could go on and on about where to go and what to do,lil out of the way places etc. but the itenerary i just gave you will take a leisurely couple to 3 weeks to truly enjoy so ill leave it at that..
I agree with Bill, Savannah is a tight town. But in all honesty, I've seen a shitload of cities, bummed around homeless in many of them, and it always comes down to Philadelphia, PA being the best place to live on Earth. I mean besides the highest murder count in the country 2 years in a row, and the insane homeless people that might punch you out if you dont give them money or a smoke, its the best. The people are the coolest, and they dont talk like the douche bags in NYC talk. Plus, contrary to popular belief, our pizza is the best in the country, our bars have the best selection of beer on tap (except for UFO in Salisbury, NC), and the local music scene has the best bands. And besides, Tim and Eric are from here, so that right there proves we have the best psychedelic drugs too. Fuck Cali acid, never had better than from my home city.
haha, I feel the exact opposite. I was going to tell him to stay on the east coast - definitely check out Philly, NYC, Boston, and if he goes south, Savannah. however, my mom has told me multiple times that the deserts in Arizona are gorgeous. (I can't say whether or not this is true, I've never been) once you leave the coast and go inland, there's just a ton of hicks and a ton of Crystal Meth. Hahaha. I bet Texas is worth checking out. but again, I wouldn't know. I lived in Florida for a while, and it sucks imo. :cheers2:
grand rapids, MI in the fall. so pretty. sault ste. marie, MI in the summer. algonac, MI in the summer. clearly no one likes Michigan in this thread as much as i do. lolz.
