I hate to admit it but the Mama Mia theme song I can’t get out of my head from all of the commercials lol... honestly, multiple days...
och weeel, 'that' other thread remindid me of "scotland's depraved" and "jack the slob and the goddess of love". (the furst has probably already been mentioned and the second, i don't know if any links exist. even among filkers in the 80s i've only hurd parts of it and only once or twice)
Since hearing Tom Jones is seriously ill, I can't get this out my head, it was played at my mum's funeral..
John Lennon's, Instant Karma-----it happens everytime I put on my shirt that has a picture of John Lennon playing the guitar on it, and across the bottom it says "WE ALL SHINE ON." In my car I just happened to have put in a CD the other day I brought back from France---a girl singing an existential song about her wanting to be the narcotic in an obsessive all-consuming and addictive relationship with her lover and other like songs in her sexy half-whispered voice (but my French is not that good so I could be misunderstanding it). On my way to the car this morning, I'm singing, "We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun..." I drove to the store humming along with this sexy French girl. As soon as I get out of the car I start again, "...A super star! That's what you are! And we all shine on..." which I continued to sing all through the store, until I got back in the car, humming along to her song about Jealousy, then at home, as soon as I'm out of the car, "Instant karma's gonna get you..."
This song they play on the radio that goes "I'm on the outside. I'm lookin' in." It's really terrible, but I always get those songs stuck in my head. Maybe songs get popular just 'cause they get stuck in people's heads and other people are like, "It's stuck in my head, better buy the album," but I just think it's terrible.
