I am not affiliated with any political party, but I have supported the Green Party policies, NDP and Liberal Party.
if nader would ever let the greens nominate someone other then himself, say peter cameo for example. well i think there'd be a real chance to bring some sanity into the political picture. conservatives seem to know how to get the wrong things done and liberals seem to have a better idea, up to a point, as to what needs to be. but the're both putting idiological assumptions ahead of reality. which is what is currently driving me up the blessed wall. not that everyone seems to aggree with my perceptions of reality either. or that any of us can every count on being 100%. =^^= .../\...
Um. ^ that's very wrong. The paint brush you are using is a little thick. But I'm too busy to post more at the moment. *hugs her textbooks*
What the Libertarian Party believes in a nutshell is that you have the right to your life, liberty and property. The government's duty is to protect these rights and otherwise leave you alone. Because of a number of your subsequesnt posts, I'll try to answer some of your questions. The job of the US military is to protect the United States of America, not be the world's policeman! We find abhorrent that corporations are allowed to lobby the government to pass laws which protect that industry's position in the marketplace. This type of abuse is known as corporatism, mercantilism or corporate welfare. For instance, the oil cartels have no business lobbying the government to forbid the production of hemp or other based fuels or materials. The local energy (gas and/or electric) company shouldn't be granted a monopoly on supplying energy. As far as abuses of employees, the greater comeptition a business enterprise has, the less likely that they'll abuse their employees as if they do, they'll find most of their work force going to work for someone who will treat them well! FTR, I don't have much respect for either Thatcher or Reagan. Sure, they both would talk a good line about free enterprise and so forth, but their economic policies were actually closer to corporatism than the free market. www.lp.org As an individual who has been active in with Libertarian affairs for almost fourteen years now, this is sadly true. I sometimes wonder why I've held on for this long. Too many of our activists do not know how to sell the message of liberty to the common folk. Since the death of former political director Ron Crickenberger back in January 2004 and with the paltry vote totals of the presidential campaign later that year, the situation seems to have only gotten worse.
I find it a bit strange, yet predictable that the Green Party would have more followers amoung this crowd than the Libertarian Party. Is it the word Green that appeals to us? enviromental promises? why not Libertarian? the views and beliefs are much more level and in-synch with our way of life. just some food for thought... maybe take a look into it... or not... education and diversity of knowledge never hurt anyone....
not necessarily... the actions of Libertariam activists to end victimless crime laws, and to stop the legislation of morality.... are what can really make weed legal, as well as many other things. like i said check it out you might be surprised...
yes i believe that would be good one lets just call it the Other Party... then you are winning hooray for frothy brew!!! speaking of which i need another.
I'll be your campaign manager..... you can find my charges in the thread: glory, glory beeraluhah.... in the beverage section.
yep, until the revolution is won and the new dictator begins to squander the country's/people's resource for personal gain... the economie colapses from lack of skilled and educated workers (Doctors, geneticists, pharmacologists, engineers...) these people are highly paid for a reason... society values them... the pay entices them to this position. without them, no bridges, no roads, no medicine, no cure for disease. and as the working class... you and your family will live on meager rations of food. You will slave long hours... and you will be paid little or nothing, regardless of your level of skill in your field. yeah communism is awesome....
engineers and doctors may be highly paid for a good reason, bussiness executives are even more highly paid and for no better reason then that they can get away with it. that doesn't mean i'd trust marxism any further then any other idiology, but a communist political party as one party among five or six others, all fielding candidates and all winning some, loosing some, seats in whatever government, i see no more reason to be paranoid of then what america's republicans have done and are doing. possibly even a bit less, as long as they didn't start pointing guns at anyone. and tricks that get people killed our dear sweet republicans have been known to pull too. so maybe they'd have competition for their election rigging. so maybe they could use some. =^^= .../\... and yes, greens as the dominant party and libertarians as the loyal opposition. libbers DO have some good ideas, they've just got too many dollar sighns in their eyes for me to trust them. i think the're honest about being what the republicans deny being and to me that's one point in their favor. the green platform reflects my interests and perspectives better then any other, but i'd rather have a no party system then any one party system, even if that one party were my own greens. i mean do we really NEED political parties of ANY flavour anyway? what do they really represent (political parties in general) other then idiological bias? and isn't idiological bias, ANY idiological bias, the last thing in hell we REALLY need? =^^= .../\...
Heh heh, I guess I'll join the Keg Party, and hopefully the Green Party as well.... ...and I may need a campaign manager...
