I've spent more time taking care of my nephew than either of his parents, thank you very much

that argument is specious bullshit.

 

People really don't care for our parenting...

We don't give our kids soda, or for the most part kool aid, or sugary shit... people think it's weird, or act like we're bad parents or something.

We also want to home school the boys... people think that's odd too.

no it's not. you know THAT child, give his parents all the advice you like. but would you go up to stangers in a store who got in a fight and give them relationship advice as sanctimoniously as you're being now? i don't think so. you know why? her man would probably punch you in the mouth, but most mom's are too harrassed, harried and bewildered by the power struggle with their children in the full view of judgemental pricks who don't have kids 24/7. you are not a parent. you're a babysitter.
