40mg Hydro so far today. I just got back from a doctors appt., and he changed my Hydro script from 10/500's to 10/325's. That's some good news, I've been hoping he'd do that for some time. That will allow me to take a bigger dose without hurting my liver.

I put in 2 mg of Suboxone about an hour and a half ago. My condition has come around full circle and I feel normal again, so I am back to like 3-4 mg of Suboxone per day and no more Lithium. Lithium is a very effective drug, but Jesus Christ does it have awful side-effects. I was only taking 900 mg (most people take 1200 mg on maintenance!) and I felt really awful.

My hands were so shaky and full of tremors that I couldn't even hold a glass of tea without dropping it. The tremors also exist in one's legs and neck so that even walking down the stairs can prove damn-near impossible. And I wouldn't like to go out in public on Lithium because people (ironically) would think you are REALLY sketchy and jittery due to the head/neck tremors and hand tremors. It also effects your speech in a way that makes you sound both mentally retarded (in the literal sense - not being offensive here) and incredibly nervous even though in reality you are calm!

Also, it makes you incredibly nauseous for hours after taking it. But it is the most effective anti-aggression medication I have ever encountered, even moreso than opioids or antipsychotics. It just completely prohibits your brain from getting worked up over anything.

I really wish the pharmacology researchers would work on finding drugs with similar ACTIVE pharmacology profiles to Lithium but without the un-intended side effect profiles. It wouldn't be hard. Lithium is a:

    - Non-psychoactive NMDA antagonist (like Agmatine and Namenda)
    - Inositol reuptake inhibitor (Inositol regulates Serotonin production and shuts down Norepinephrine production)
    - cAMP inhibitor (any G-Coupled-Protein receptor will be inhibited because of this effect including ALL the Dopamine Receptors and ALL of the excitatory G-Couple Glutamate receptors)

But, alas, no-one has bothered making a new drug with these properties.

my wife's uncle uses lithium to manage his schizophrenia/bi polar (maybe schizo-affective? not sure what his diagnosis would be according to the newest DSM) and he has a lot of trouble with the speech problems associated with it. i guess it makes his tongue swell up? he had an issue at his latest apartment building because the manager thought he was drunk, but it was just from the swelling.

    siggghhh

I've been on Percocet for 2-3 months now. Been taking 175-200+mg a day with about three or four 10 day breaks. So it's been 7-8 days straight on and roughly 10 straight days off. During the breaks I was maintaining with 300-400 mg Tramadol.

Anyway, recently I went back on and I have literally not been able to feel a thing. I almost feel as if she prescribed me a placebo. I know right off the bat that this is unlikely. I also have been getting a nod here and there and I know I would have definitely been in WD by now if I was not on an opiate. I just don't know wth is going on. My normal dose is 25-35mg and I have never had to take more than that. Rarely do I even go as high as 35 and I am actually a little bit of a pussy to go higher than that.

Did I really build a tolerance to my normal dose nearly overnight?

This is crazy - less than 2 weeks ago I was getting a nice buzz on 25mg and now I can not feel a thing (other than a nod) off 30+mg.

I have an actual condition that will require major surgery and the doctor absolutely knows I am in pain - is it really possible I got a placebo? How could I go about actually checking into this?

IDK why but I am just so reluctant to up my dose or try a potentiator. I do have some Tagamet/grapefruit juice but meh I don't know.

    Any ideas?

I also have some Benadryl and just straight up Diphenhydramine. i know that some do use benadryl with their opiates, but again, ive always been very paranoid about mixing anything with them.

    what's oxy/hydro like with benadryl?

also, hydropersistent - i believe it is you who takes zanaflex as well with your opiates? i actually have a bottle of those (4mg i believe) - how does that work for you? what does it make you feel?

ive just always been able to enjoy them on their own but now ive reached that point where it might be time to try something out - besides a benzo.

i don't think a doctor can prescribe you a placebo unless you agree to do a study or something.

thanks, that's pretty much what i thought as well. though i have no fucking idea how placebos could possibly work if the patient knows he's taking one.

im bored this morning as its a slow day overall so far. so i want to know what everyone's typical day is here. etkearne posts his quite a bit and I feel its more interesting than just randomly posting what were on at that moment

regardless, here is mine when i am actually on opiates

wake up ~10:00am: ~30-35mg NOT CWE Percocet on empty stomach

12 pm/Noon: another 25-30mg NOT CWE Percs again usually on empty stomach. Will also have a fatty with this dose - Not sure if this actually works.

Sidenote: I don't have the typical energy boosts that others claim to have when taking oxycodone. I do feel euphoria and am more motivated to perform some tasks online or something but I don't get that energy to clean up my house or any chores or anything like that. So, I'll usually start nodding 90 minutes or so after this dose and might nap.

    4:00pm: ~30mg Percs CWE
    7:00pm 30-35mg Percs CWE

10-11pm 35mg Percs Sometimes I CWE if I am up to it.

And then finally again around 1-2am another 30-35mg Percs CWE

    ------------

Obv nothing too exciting but it has worked for me up 'til now. I do have some K-pins and Valium scripted which I don't actually take while I'm on the Percs. However, I am thinking of adding Benadryl to a couple of these doses throughout the day.

I tend to also have 2 or 3 big meals a day as opposed to eating small ones. I do this now because I mostly want to be on an empty stomach so the meds can work better, however ths is something I am going to change.

I haven't had a good nod in at least a week and a half (ever since going back down to 3-4 mg of Suboxone per day), but I was pleasantly rewarded last night.

I had taken 1.5 mg of Subs at around Noon and then before bed I took 2.5 mg more. I was already quite tired and had also taken my Zyprexa and Klonopin which tend to make me pretty sleepy.

An hour later, while listening to music, I first experienced a good forty five minutes of pure bliss just completely at-one with the music, and then slipped into a very nice nod for awhile longer.

bleh, I upped my dosage today and have had mixed results so far. the first one was alright and felt decent - still not much euphoria or that old feeling.

the second(right now) is going horrible. i feel like i overdosed. i dont know what im gonna do now. to be stuck at doses where one essentially makes you feel nothing and the other feels like youre going to die, sucks.

    need to take a walk

Sorry I haven't been posting too much lately. My grandmother, whom I am very close to, is dying right now. She went into the hospital to operate on Stage IV colon cancer last Wednesday, which actually went routinely. But in the past three days, they discovered all sorts of other awful stuff and she is losing her ability to breathe and she will likely die within two or three days.

I just hope that she does not have to suffer. Luckily, they are employing lots of Morphine to help her generalized misery. So we can thank opioids for THAT as well - allowing people to die in dignity. I was close to her because she also had a form of severe mental illness like my own (I believe they called her Bipolar Type I back in the 1950's - she took three or four psych meds) and could never work. But everyone loved her and that's what mattered...not what status she was in society. But when she found out I had come down with the same mental illness, we became very close.
