That cat story is pretty funny, especially since no harm was done. My dog was given Buprenex for pain in it's ass (literally) and my parents and I joked when he got high from it, especially since I take Suboxone, and they both are forms of Buprenorphine. My parents found that funny too.

 

See, thats just crazy, why do that, theres no gain or is this how the Dr wanted it?

 

It is pretty much out of the sheer number of scripts I have from him. In the 20 minute appointment I have with him every month, he barely has time to write the scripts for all my other meds (Zyprexa, Effexor 150mg, Effexor 75mg, Klonopin prn., Lamictal-which I never fill), so it is just this rush of tons of script pad writing haha. Plus, he has the bad habit of talking to me while writing scripts. Sometimes this works in my favor and I get more. Other times it just ends up me having to go to the pharmacy 5 different times each month.

BUT, in the end, he is the best psychiatrist I have ever had, and is highly esteemed by other psychiatrists too. He cares, knows that I know ALOT about the pharmacology of the meds, works with me, etc. But he also knows when to be the doctor and tell me "No" on some of my more 'eccentric' medication ideas (I once wanted to drop ALL of my meds at once and go on an MAO-I haha).

Well I must say today was a good day. I guess technically yesterday was a good day and so far this morning it has been good. Beings it is 4:00 am. Sunday afternoon I was going thru my meds to get an idea of how to make sure I kept enough actiqs back to get thru the WD's from my patches not lasting when I stumbled on to a whole box of actiq's that I had managed to stash a couple months back that I had totally forgotten about. 30 of them. So decided it would be a recreational type of day. So from about 3:00 sunday afternoon until midnight or so I have had nine of them bad boys. That's right 5400mcg's (and I have more than enough to get me to my appt. with out having to go to all those lovely WD parties) and I have been up watching every stupid movie and info-mercial on the TV. I can tell you about every kind of lose weight program or get rich quick scam or pills to make your little buddy down below stay up all night & party with you that they have to offer. Oh and not to forget all the pretty girls that were lonely and wanted me to call and be their friend for $4.99 a minute. So it was a good day as I don't do that very often but maybe once every 3 or 4 months and when I do I enjoy myself thoroughly. Well I'm probly rambling as I get to be a bit of a wind bag some times. I'm gonna watch and learn how to use this ninja 5000 or what ever it is food processor thing a majigger. Peace.

 

im actually counting out what i will have left too, my goal is to build a little stash so when i go back to work, and i run short, i don want to have to miss any work because of w/d's, lol.....trying to get on steady ya know, lol......i didnt do to bad this month although my next appointment for my primary PM Dr, came in 3 weeks and not 4 because i will be having a EMG nerve test and that was the only time slot they had open, so i hope i will get a full months meds next visit that will really help my cause something fierce!!!!!!!!

 

PC, Ill say again, you know whats best for you, If you can give up the high, getting on Subs has got to be sooooo much better going back to work than being on a wide range of opiates. Its just my opinion and Im sure ETK would give similar testimony, I just feel normal, Like ive never taken a narcotic. you being a young guy, of course wouldnt feel the lack of energy I do because im 50yrs old. Fuck, saying that age creeps me out, LOL!
I'll support you no matter what you choose, just passing on another option not to mention im sure your body would appreciate a break.

onna bender today, been up for like 30 hours ish, lol and i done lost fucking count of what i took.......i know im feelin a nod here real quick.....

 

I had to go on a bender on Monday afternoon/night. It had been too long since I significantly altered my consciousness, and I have a good stash of Subs built up from lowering my tolerance.

I took about 8mg of Suboxone spaced out through about 6 hours, but the last 3 hours were unlike anything I have ever experienced. Even more intense than my pre-Suboxone highest highs. It was nothing short of a spiritual ecstasy (I am not religious, but I mean spiritual in a 'transcendent' type meaning), feeling at one and at peace with the universe. I haven't even felt that way on psychedelics before, granted I have only tripped about a dozen times. But still, it was beautiful in every sense. I got slightly nauseous (the first time I ever got nauseous on opioids, even from back in the pre-Sub days), but it passed quickly after drinking some iced tea.

So, yes, you can get high on Suboxone. Very fucking high. And I felt the drug until the next night. I didn't even take any doses the next day. And I felt no hangover at all. I have a 'renewed' love and appreciation for opioids.

suckin on a 100mcg fent patch and feelin damn good! too bad its my last one and my refill isn't until the 20th. i go through this every month ever since i got put on fent...

i think it was on here that i read that taking high doses of gabapentin helps deal with w/d's... anybody familiar with this? cause i've got a fair amount of the stuff. i'd appreciate any info you guys can give me on this!

 

You know Bluez, I've asked this same question and got mixed responses, some say yes, same number say no. I dont see how it could hurt trying, if anything, it wont have any affect but could maybe ease some aches and pains or maybe some depression should it arise. good luck...!

Since I also take stimulants as you know, I thought I would update my 'script' scenario. I wanted to stop snorting Ritalin but still needed a strong stimulant, so I thought of asking for Vyvanse, which is a prodrug (ie: it is metabolized from an inactive substance to a real drug only in the liver after ORAL administration) for dextro-amphetamine, which is the more euphoric stereoisomer of amphetamine. My psychiatrist said he was cool with the switch, so i started today. I only need to take on capsule a day.

So far, i have nothing but good things to say about the switch. Not only am I now fully 'legit' (ie: I am, taking only prescribed drugs at prescribed doses by prescribed routes of administration!!), but the drug really has lasted all day and it is way more euphoric than Ritlain and carries way less of a physical load- no jitteriness.

I take 30mg a day now, but will move to 40 next month. Just thought i would update you all!

 

I always love your post etk. Not to seem like i am purpously following your drug regiment. But i am pretty sure i am always one step behind you...its kind of strange. I started subs last august. Now my pysch thought ritalin would be a good start at helping my add. So now i am at a comfortable dose of 20mg twice a day but i also have trouble keeping it out of my nose and taking more than prescribed . But now that you have brought to my attention vyvanse as a possible alternative....i just might have to check into that.
And just out of curiousity how many mgs of ritalin where you taking??
