Maybe if it would help if I introduced myself?

    BA psychology
    Minor marketing
Cognitive Brain Science Graduate student (second year)
Substances I'm into: Alcohol (social binger), LSD (decent sized dose once a year), ayahuasca, san pedro tea, LSA, HG dagga resin, hash candy, yopo+maoi, entheogens in general, coffee, tea, epinephrine from Ma Huang

    First year burner

I work in lab studying the unperceived visual information that forces its way into your brain implicitly

I plan on doing advertising after I get an MBA...Later open a distillery/brewery/resort in the Bay Area

Hobbies: waterfowl hunting, distillation, brewing, gardening, sailing, chemistry, shamanism, beekeeping, technical reading (fantasy is rather boring for me), contemplating the vastness and complexities of the universe, music (bass, classical guitar, dige, throat singing), basic construction, bread and cheese making, DIY in general...learning new skills

I have a moderate STM learning disability with a savant longterm memory that allows me to draw relationships between concepts in a novel way (alcohol doesn't help but I've noticed it since the second grade).

I do not consider myself "smart" however I have a strong work ethic to make up for my flaws.

only opiates I'm familiar with are a heavy dose of perc for my back (made me super lethargic and kind of annoying) and mixing 3 vics and beer at concerts for mosh pits over a course of a day (super fun).

So by no means am I a holier than thou. I'm just trying to understand the world of opiates better and improve upon my current default perspective...

For a person who does not know much about the opioids, I will attempt to provide a short description of why they are appealing. I will focus on psychological effects rather than the obvious physical effect of analgesia.

Opioids, when taken at low to moderate doses, allow a person to interact with the ordinary world, without compromising their intellect nor their motor skills, in a way that gives things a sense of true beauty. One appreciates things that are usually glossed over. The mind is able to focus more, allowing the person to truly live in the present. Bombardment of thoughts about the future and past, good or bad, is reduced. Any situation can be seen as satisfying because all of the preconceptions of it are gone.

One is able to enter a world of true peace when they desire to. However , they are not impaired to the extent that normal everyday function is not possible. They are, essentially, the only true antidepressant. I have taken nearly every type of antidepressant agent out there (including things not marketed as such, like amphetamines and 5-HT psychedelics), and nothing seems as genuine as the opioid experience. Perhaps a person who is not afflicted by a real mental illness may not appreciate opioids. But to the chronically suffering person, they provide a real relief of symptoms.

Higher doses allow for true inner exploration and meditative states. Music is ecstatic sounding and closing your eyes allows you to really openly evaluate things in your life, sort of like an idealized psychotherapy, but without the clash of egos between the therapist and client. Simply sitting and living in the present provides ample pleasure and satisfaction. However, laziness is not common. I tend to do work more easily on opioids as the barrier of hatred towards arduous tasks is taken down.

This is just a short description, and in all honesty, words cannot describe a 'good' opioid experience, just as you would agree with me that describing a 5-HT2A agonist psychedelic experience is difficult in words.

Just a random thing to mention, but I thought I would point out that the HeatIndex right now in Newark, De is 113 degrees F... At 10:45 in the morning! I am curious to see how high it will climb. I feel awful for any people working in factories or outdoors this week!

Feel free to post your own weather reports from the heat wave....

Whattup everyone, been years since I posted here. Wanted to see if this place was still running. Went 90 days off 4mgsuboxone/4mg xanax, but slipped up today. I bought a few 30s, and just did 20 mgs. Been about a year since I've done a real opiate, I'm feeling amazing. I'm melting into my couch watching The Town, glorious.

sounds interesting. the way you describe it sounds like a threshold dose of mescaline or the 25mins into and lsd trip. I completely agree with not having the vocabulary to describe the all of the beauty one experiences...my theory is this is why we have art and music to better capture the human experience where words fall so very short...the thing I like about psychedelics is I wake up feeling like that every single day now and only really need to remind myself once a year...but I'm not in chronic pain like you are talking about...It makes a lot more sense. Thank you for taking the time to talk about it.

What do high doses feel like? Or is there a bit of a black out like alcohol?

I am going to take 3mg of Suboxone, but I am also adding a special 1.5mg of Klonopin since benzos decrease body temperature, and I don't want to experience the histamine flush from the Suboxone when it is as hot as it is today. The heat index finally dropped below 120 though...haha.

P0rkch0p- I saw that Centreville, MD (on the eastern shore) had a regular temperature of 110! That is NOT the heat index (which was like 127).

Haha. I completely understand that.I just wanted to see what I could do with cheap old Microsoft Paint. It turned out decently, but I am sure you could improve significantly. I would still enjoy having you rework it, but, by all means, take your time.
