Definatly man, definatly. Ive been smoking alot lately and iam still looking for a job, been looking since november. Its tough these days, broke with a want for weed like no other. Ill get through it though. Hows things going with you?
What makes you think that, specifically? Many symptoms of Asperger's are also present in other disorders.
I had a horrible time in elementary school because I was always bullied. A close friend of mine since eight grade once said to me that he knew me as "the kid that everyone makes fun of"... At one point, I thought I was probably from another planet and that my mother was keeping that secret from me; it was the only explanation that made sense to me at the time with my ten year old brain... That's the most specific part that I can think of... there are other things like difficulty in making new friends and sometimes I take things literally when they are not meant to be so... I am also very sensitive and can sound pretty pedantic which is another sign.
I've had, and have, similar problems. I don't think I have Asperger's though. I just attribute it to my social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, and supposed ADHD.
Have you been diagnosed with any of those? People with AS can have social anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I'm also a paranoid person too, btw. Check out Common Misconceptions of AS on youtube by adkit2... his videos have been helpful for me, maybe for you too.
I'm watching it right now. Having social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, and ADHD doesn't necessarily mean you have Asperger's, but it's definitely a possibility. I have the lines under my eyes like this dude is talking about, but that is because I also have psychophysiological insomnia, which means my thoughts keep me awake at night. The point is, you don't know if you have it until a professional analyzes and diagnoses you. Don't jump to conclusions. Jumping to conclusions, as far as medical/psychological conditions are concerned, could also mean you suffer from hypochondria:tongue:
They can also suffer from insomnia You're right though... It's not good to jump to conclusions... looking back at my life though, it makes sense, and besides, professional diagnosis can take years to confirm :willy_nilly:
True. This also means that it takes a VERY thorough understanding to diagnos anything, professional or not, so dont just assume you have AS, based on something you've read or heard. It could very well be true, but you'll never be sure until you are analyzed by a professional. They can be wrong too, but still.
I've worked with autistic kids for years, and I'm definitely a little bit autistic haha. I like being squeezed to be calmed down, I pace, I speak in quotes hahah, maybe I'm a lot a bit autistic... haha
Mhm. I also get terrible sensory overload/ am more sensitive than most. Like, crowded [laces where there are lots of noises I can't keep track of, I jujst freak out and normally have to leave or I'll just shut down. Same goes witth certain textures/ fabrics/ foods
I don't like chaotic noise either, unless it's rhythmic. Also, the main reason I dislike lots of foods is due to the texture. I just don't like how it feels in my mouth. haha
im really shy and its hard for me to get the courage to talk to people i havent already met, or know at least a little which sucks
