North Carolina is a beautiful state. You are in a good place and obviously know it. That's living the good life.

Just put in a satisfying day of work, worked my ASS off and got the money I need to survive. It's a good feeling. I'm proud of myself, which is rare since I think I'm the worst person ever.
what makes me happy plenty of rest, the sound of rain, laughter and love. what makes me sad to many wars, pestillence and racism.
Today is shower and clean clothes day. I got 104.5FM with STRICTLY 60s-70s RnR with the occasional Tarheel country western tune going. It's 74 degrees in the house right now and feels sooooo goot. Donovan is playing...Lime in the Coconut song. I'm heading home later for 2 days and then come back to where I am now Monday morning in time for my shift as a caregiver. I still got 3/4th of a full tank in my sled and I got paid yesterday. Plus I found my Emergency Stash yesterday. I don't think I will be needing it but if I do I know where it is.:sunny:
Just ate dinner at a nice Asian Bistro with my 18 year old son. He graduates soon, has a sweet girlfriend and is full of the joy of life. His smile, the light in his eyes, I can't imagine anything any better than to share time with him now before he begins the next phase of his life. He is mine from the heart and soul, not by biology. I knew him from his baby years on and years ago was able to adopt him and bring him to the US. His journey in life has already been amazing and I get to share some of that fun and adventure. For me, its the finest rush I could ever want.
I'm happy when I'm having a good chat with all my hippy friends here at HipForums. Chronic Tom included! Oh man! I love Tandoori chicken!
The Lime in the coconut song by Nilsson you are absolutely right. At the time I was listening to that tune Donovan's name was the only one I could think of that sounded remotely like Nilsson. Some of the oddest music that came out of the Viet Nam War years has always been some of my favorites. There was a musician did an LP name of Jaime Brockett during the 70s. It took one album side to tell this story. He was in Mexico working in a rope factory. One day the rope factory she caught fire. He ran back inside to save his sardine and Limburger sandwich on pumpernickel bread. He's running around in all this thick smoke and he can't find his lunch. Finally he gets tired and sits down in the middle of the floor and he realizes that he's high as all get out. He jumps up and scurries about and finally lunges out of the burning building. He made it out with 397 and a half feet of rope. So he took a trip to South America. I really loved that song. Somewhere else on the web my handle was 397.5feetofrope. Then Murphy's Law clobbered my computer and that was that. Even old farts like me got something to lose on our 'puters. But 397.5s legend lives on. Hoooaah!!
I have a nephew like that. I watched him grow up thru my sister. He recently turned 21 and has been enjoying his newfound freedom to drink alcohol legally. He doesn't smoke the weed tho and for that I am thankful. He is going to the university partly on a scholarship and knows what he wants in life. He gets excellent grades and I am as proud as proud can be!! I know it's not the same as having a Son but it's pretty close. That's good enuf fer me.:sunny:
The silly pups can grow in your heart and be as much a apart of you as if they were blood related. The joy from watching a healthy kid blossum is one helluva rush.
