Brian you drop some wisdom every now and then man, I think it's great because you spend so much time in the herb forum that it's like unexpected that someone would be original and intelligent dropping truths on these "hippys" LOL I am far from a hippy (Well, kind of) I only came to this forum from a friend of mine that used to post here, and that kid is what you think of when you think hippy. I could care less what the fuck anyone thinks they are, but this forum seems to be more about open-mindedness and originality than being a manufactured, suburban dwelling, pink floyd listening, ecstasy eating, RC munching Hippy.

 

Thanks man. I just don't see the need in changing yourself, or your image, to appease these fake fuckers. There are some wonderful people here, but a few of them, I would say, don't even deserve to have internet access.

I agree.. there are lots of very intelligent and very interesting people in these forums who I've learned a lot from. But there are also lots of fake, wannabes who try to talk like the kind of hippy you would run into during the Summer Of Love, but it's so easy to see the real person behind the fake hippy mask. I just don't understand why people can't be satisfied with being themselves as opposed to trying to project an untrue image of themselves

 

Yeah man. People think that others won't like them unless they portray a certain image that is along the lines of the 'hippy' image and ideology, but mostly, people just want honesty and respect. They don't give a shit if you are a hippy or a redneck or a goody-goody, as long as you're honest and respectful. It puzzles me to see all of these people trying to impress people by portraying a [fake] hippy ideology just to make people like them. This is not a popularity contest. Just be yourself. That's why I like the MJ forums and the psychedelics forum, because I know it's just a bunch of stoners/psychonauts, like myself, talking about their passion(psychoactive substances) and they seem to be pretty genuine, for the most part. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of great people in other parts of the site, also.

 

people aren't going to be worried about what the look like to each other when the're worried about where the're going to find something to fill their empty bellies that won't kill them. when the little green pieces of paper in their pockets are no longer good for anything other then wiping their assess with.

then those who do survive will realize how dependent everyone is on each other and the well being of their natural surroundings. by then the oil will be long gone. nations as we know them probably will too. along with anyone to enforce building codes or patrol borders.

much of the pollution of watercourses, at least at upper elevations will be long gone. though in a very few places it might actualy be worse.

the villagers and their 'elected' by defacto consensus 'elders' will have learned how to avoid those places.

some kinds of tecnologies will begin to reemerge, but there will still be a lot of walking too. and remember, those that do, will no longer be able to be dependent on combustion to propell and enable them.

best of all. if mistakes are to be not simply repeated, the connection between priorities and probabilities will no longer be denied.

Can't help with the first two items on your list but as far as plaing like Jimi do this....live with your axe in your hand until it feels like a part of you...learn your chord forms and how to play in all of them in new and different ways...listen to the blues, he did and you will see and feel a lot of blues in his work...don't be stuck in one mode or style, however. Jimi played blues forms, jazz licks, octavis, modalities and stuff never imagined before all with equal ease.
learn to play in "C" or "D" form..castles made of sand, wind cries mary, and many more were based on scales overlayed on c form constructs....

 

well i can't help you with your music lessons, but a world where no human rights are breached and world peace is found, is one of those dynamic force of example, begins with: being the chainge you want to see sorts of things.

i want a world where young people get over the material bullshit, wake up and smell the flowers. i honestly wish that they would broaden their minds and do something a little more challenging than being sucked into the tv and being spoonfed bullshit. they have so much potential to become great people, and they're throwing it away without even realising it.

 

do we want paradise, eternal love and happiness and bliss.... ONLY? or do we want to LEARN, evolve and realize, wow, i'm on a new level.... but it doesn't ssstop here...
i don't want paradise and bliss,partly of course, but not only, because in the end, if that's the only reason for you to live, wont learn so much.
is the meaning of life=love? partly, but that is not enough, for me anyway.
they say "ignorance is bliss", well i want to be wise and not trapped in illusions.... i think this life right now is about saying good bye to the old dream, it feels empty sometimes, but the times are changing.... cant you feel it?
