i don't even know where to begin answering this. i've been here way too long. and certainly some of the most memorable moments are not really supposed to be discussed on the open forum. there's always an honorable mention for the climbing arms of ivy incident. and all the stupid offshoot forums when everyone got banned. i don't know, i'm sure i'll think of more.

 

well that narrows down who you could be quite a bit.

i don't think any of them were not kind of stupid. fucking banned-aide?

obviously that didn't stop me from posting on most of them anyway.

 

I think it’s awesome this forum has so much history, wish I was around for it.... but I’m here now! Better late than never.

 

Back when i first started there was a bloke called ged who was a keen traveller. I remember seeing his posts, pics and some youtube videos.

 

Man, guy, dude, fellow.

 

Getting to know Doc in the chatroom, then hearing that he had died. He was about the 3rd friend I had made on HF and would be in the chatroom early in the morning while going through dialysis. I suffer from insomnia frequently and would stay up chatting with him.

There was also a young girl with a difficult life that I befriended, only to have that destroyed by a misunderstanding. She still has my number, I hope to hear from her letting me know she's OK some day.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Thanks for sharing. Doc was a good, hard working dude. He had his health issues but... yeah that was a shitty thing.

Interesting thread. I think the weirdest thing was my apartment/lifestyle when I first signed up in 2007. I was in Arcata studying at Humboldt and I didn't fit in at all. & it's not related to the forum, but I can remember this one desperate disparaging night in that apartment. I was so drunk and threw up everywhere... That time in my life was super miserable. I was suffering through it with booze. I remember I traded some good coffee for some good bud though.

I was struggling with schizophrenia & self-medicating with the alcohol, trying to create a life for myself that somewhat resembled the drug use I was accustomed to from about 7 years before (I know that probably doesn't make sense... what did I do with the seven years before that??).

And to make matters worse, the rave forum went south. People stopped going to it. They went to twitter or facebook or something. And Myspace died too, though I don't remember exactly when. I was on suicidegirls but I didn't like that. So, I looked around and signed up here.

But it didn't take. I could not adjust and didn't know what to do. Skip forward 7 more years and I finally decide that maybe I'd like to login.

I went to a game show with that website. The Price is Right! Lol... One of the girls was chosen to be a contestant and when it was time to guess the price of a given item for some game they were playing, I shouted out what I thought the price would be. I think it was a couple of tennis rackets, and I was off on the price by at least $100... Anyway.. that's super cool!

I was soulcompromise there as well, but wasn't very active.

 

Yeah, when I was teen into mid 20s I was on that site. I'd say I'm still there but I haven't been to it in nearly 10 years when I joined here. It was pretty lame. Good for obtaining a bunch of stalkers really.

 

I had a crush on Manko, and like fifty others. It was super weird going with them to be on Price is Right.
