If you can't physically adapt to your environment, you have to become intelligent enough to adapt your environment to suit you, i.e alter your environment rather than alter yourself (e.g refrigeration; thank you William Cullen :) ).

Oh wait ... i forgot, we (rather than nature) are actually altering ourselves as well these days. Just not via natural selection, i.e SCIENCE BITCHES!!

My father is already part cyborg, I suspect within my lifetime we will begin to see humans of whose bodies have been largely replaced by machine.

Yeah, probably....machines already breathe for some in hospitals....and when that evolves, no telling what will happen.....pretty soon...or maybe not so soon.....flesh and blood will be obsolete.......:D

Ok, I will go quiet for awhile now.....lol

They have artificial heart valves, and even artificial hearts, artificial joints, they can even grow real tissue and organs, from the donors own cells, and more progress would be made if we'd put more funding into stem cell research.

Actually heritage when referring to a specific person is kind of up for interpretation.

Here is the exact dictionary definition

    Heritage:

    noun
    1.
something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth; an inherited lot or portion:
a heritage of poverty and suffering; a national heritage of honor, pride, and courage.
    2.
    something reserved for one:
    the heritage of the righteous.
    3.
    Law.
something that has been or may be inherited by legal descent or succession.
any property, especially land, that devolves by right of inheritance.

So everyone answering about their bloodlines technically still fall into the definition of heritage, but way to put your own spin on something and then acting all pretentious when others dont.

    sorry, you are wrong.
none of the above descriptions applies to ANCESTRY which is literally who had who and what was/is their NATIONALITY or RACE or bloodline which is what a person inherits genetically.
Heritage refers to all the cultural crap that is not genetically inherited that a person has adopted/learned by virtue of where they live and with whom as well as belongings and entitlements.

The confusion can arise because there is a overlap in the language used to describe both heritage and ancestry, but they have different meanings.
Example: A person could be a full blooded Italian who is the 5th generation of the their family to be born and raised in America.
    Their ANCESTRY is Italian
    Their HERITAGE is Italian-American

If I had money to just toss about (VERY unlikely), one of the things I'd definitely toss it to would be to have my DNA analyzed.

All this talk of heritage and ancestry...goodnightalive.

I live in and come from the south...when you are 59 and you've lived your entire life down south, you are so ingrained in the "southern way" that regardless of what different cultures you are exposed to nor how much education you obtain, the "heritage" I feel is southern. However, I am certain that is not "all" I am.

To me, my heritage should include where I live and its culture as well as what my DNA would show.
