Looking at everyone's choices, I am a little shocked not to see my favorite listed by anyone, and that would be Deep Purple. I am also a big Roy Buchanan fan, best guitarist there ever was, RIP Roy. And Wishbone Ash will be my third choice. as for the list, I know of every band there, except for 13th Floor Elevators, going to have to do a search on them just to find out who the hell they are. And I am a classic rocker to the bone, and I do like ABBA, although surprised to see them on that list.
wheres the "other" option... out of those im gonna have to say the grateful dead and im also a pretty big fan of simon and garfunkel
On the list, The Who, The Grateful Dead, Hendrix, and Jefferson Airplane. I like the others, but don't call any of them "favorites". Not on the list, Zepplin, Tull, Fleetwood Mac, Floyd, The Doors, and many, many others. NIN and Tool both being huge favorites of mine as well.
the beatles all the way! you cant really beat them they shaped the way music is today and ifluenced thousands of famous as well as unfamous bands! in fact i have a tattoo of a strawberry on my back with the words nothings gonna change my world around it and i have let it be tattooed on my the back of my neck!:H oh little boy you know i could love you, but first i must make my get away!
13th Floor Elevators? Am I the only one that's never heard of them? But yea, out of those, Hendrix and Beatles. My favorite band is Tool however. And in terms of classic rock, I'd have to say I'm more partial to The Doors and Pink Floyd...
The beatles is my favourite!!!their music changed my mind, esspeshaly the John s.they made me hippie. And them all for douing such a great music! Love, peace and Happyness!
alltime i would have to say, like the first seven major alblums of the moody blues, the ones with the london phil as backup. that and tangarene dream. the origeonal airplane is definately on my list though, and jethro tull of about the same era, when white rabit first came out on 8-track. today it would have to be groups like aeterna and numina and rogue elements, and of course many many more then i can keep track of, or ever even learn, the names of. of course local jam bands i have to put in a good world for. i really think the're the soul of real people making real music, more then what corporate industry trys to shove off on us. but my personal inclination is toward the spacier stuff, the kind that DOESN'T overdo the rythem bit. =^^= .../\...
Only the first Moody Blues album, "Days Of Future Passed" has The London Phillharmonic on it. All their albums starting from the second to the seventh has The Moodies playing every instrument on the album, even the classical ones.
The list was extremely small. WHat about an "Other" catagory?? The Grateful Dead is what I chose. I have been really getting into them the last 8 years or so.
