It’s half inch. I use imperial sometimes and metric at others. Can get very confusing, as you say, especially with dates. Now that UK has left the EU, I wonder if we’ll go back to imperial. Some shopkeepers, butchers in particular, never used metric. What a waste of time… and money… and headspace
