It felt good for about five minutes, then it just “burns” and hurts. I think if I was 30 or 40 years younger I could cold hardened and toughen my feet more than they are. At 72 and having arthritis in my toes I have to be selective about when and where to be barefoot.
I ventured out in that KY snow too. And ventured right back in, lol. I just had to feel that snow under my bare feet. It felt good, but a bit too cold for me to linger. Can't really walk around with the layer if ice on it that breaks thru as you step on it. Sharp enough to cut your shins. We're looking at temps around 0 going into thursday and snow on friday. The concrete is going to be brutal to walk on.
I think you got more ice and less snow then we did up north. And, it was easier for me as well when I was younger.
I love walking barefoot in the snow it really feels good on my bare feet. I bet that snow felt awesome on your bare feet?
Today was mostly an indoor barefoot day. I did drive barefoot and I stopped and got gas and stood in dirty packed snow at the gas pumps barefoot and later walked in clean snow to clean my feet from the dirty gas station snow. Oh, also walked about 100 feet across hard packed snow from the chicken coop to the house. You just have seize opportunities where you can find them this time of year.
Just came in from checking out the fresh snow that's coming down. Trucks getting covered again. Left some bare foot prints in the snow on the landing of the stairs. Felt good between the toes, but not for too long.
I went to Sam’s club and it’s starting to snow here and wow I got a lot of looks from people . But the ground felt really good on my bare feet.
Well winter snow rules Kentucky and it is not barefoot friendly out there. I made a brief defiance of the snow today by walking barefoot 75 feet through the deep cold. Doesn’t take long for cold burn to set in, but with my lap blanket covering them I am enjoying the warming process.
Wow barefoot Larry you got a lot of snow! I love walking in that deep of snow barefoot. That’s the kind of snow I really love walking barefoot in .
I have walked barefoot in that type of snow before and I walked 4 miles in snow that deep and completely barefoot. I have been doing that for 33 years but the last two years here we didn’t get a lot of snow here in the valley but the mountains got pounded.
I went to the movies and it was cold but I went barefoot like always. I had a lady ask me wear are your shoes and I told her that I’m barefoot all year around and I never wear shoes or socks. So we were talking about going places barefoot and the next thing I knew she took off her croc’s and I said no socks and she she no. And after the movie we both walked out barefoot and I went my way she went her way. It’s really nice to see another person go barefoot at the movies.
When I was in the army in the hills/mountains, A few of use got frost nip and lost feeling in my right big toe for about 6-8 weeks even trying to keep them warm and changing socks at night, that was on a six week Maneuvers with a small group of soldiers in Norway , it does get cold up there, even if the is dry.
Thanks, Joe90, appreciate your comment. I don’t think I have seen any posts from you on the barefoot form. I see you are a nudist something I enjoy being as well. Are you a frequent barefoot walker? Do you hike barefoot, take walks in the park or visit public establishments. Going barefoot has some of the same cultural prohibitions as going nude, except violating nude cultural norms gets you thrown in jail violating barefoot norms just gets you weird looks.lol glad you posted look forward to reading more of your posts.
Sorry about the frost bite you suffered through, glad you healed from it. Going barefoot in the cold and snow requires care and caution. I have built up some tolerance to it, but I have to pay close attention to how my feet feel. Walking barefoot in the cold and snow is a fun challenge I like to do.
