There were some unfortunate 'invasion' type incidents a while ago as mentioned which put many off the UK forum, and the place has suffered a bit of a lull. Life beyond the forums has taken over for some of us, and lots of the regulars have moved on. It happens. Places take a while to build up a community as people come and go and decide whether they like the vibe and either stick around or don't. The only way to encourage participation, as I've said many times, is to participate naturally, and not to navel gaze or moan. I'd say this place has been somewhat plagued recently by people not just getting on with things and enjoying themselves by communicating freely, but instead complaining that others aren't doing things their way. I don't think the new structure helps, some of the most lively UK sub-forums were removed leaving a somewhat disorganised UK section that now encompasses everything from random outbursts of humour to political debate to people asking about drugs, which is a bit of a shame. Nobody seems to know what this place is for at the moment.
I don't. It was originally kinda fun and saucy to begin with but ended up rather squalid. Now that kind of behavior may be fine for those foreigners but it's just not on for us Brits. Outrage Outrage :2thumbsup:
To be honest I prefer the jumble... it got way too regimented before. I remember way back when people were really picked on for simply posting off topic or in the wrong section and I hated it. Let UkHip keep it's rules and let us keep our mess! :2thumbsup:
I don't post as much as I used to, but I always have a Firefox tab open for Hipforums. I think I said this in another post...I'm kind of attached to this place...it's like going back to the old college pub and sitting in the same old comfy place from years ago. I'd love to see this place get back on its feet again. Every so often I resolve to post more threads in here and get a bit of talk going, but I'm extremely lazy. I think I've made about two posts in all the forums I check regularly this week (five, more or less), put together. Now I think about it, I don't think I even posted that much back in the day.
The worst thing was, that although JOsie started the first Filthiness forum, I actually resurrected the damn thing (If I remember rightly). Oh the shame :banghead: Although, I do find the thought of being forced to tongue someones anus mildly erotic so please excuse me whilst I go off to do some bonking :2thumbsup:
why did they change the structure? i do think it's kind of sad we don't have a lot of the subforums. especially randomness. like you say, it's a bit all over the place...which is maybe why things can get lost in translation.... this is so true. it's my comfort forum. and LOL. over and out.
Unfortunately it was one of the more popular forums, UK Randomness, which got deleted. To be honest the Filthiness and Books forums aren't much missed, but it'd've been better to get rid of the unused Parties and Protests, Photos and Music forums than Randomness, which was much used and loved by many for a long time. Unfortunately all this happened just after the Silverhippy incest invasion thing when many of the regular posters weren't around, and during a break of a few months when I was too busy to come online much.
it was silverhippy who was the incest person? incredible! yeh randomness what the most popular by a mile. i'm amazed parties and protests survived!
